GOOD NEWS!!!

Let's hope that within the next 3-4 years a massive destruction campaign will start in Slunchev Briag and Zlatnite...destroy many of the bankrupt hotels and at their place make beautiful gardens with nicely cut grass, artificial lakes, trees and children's playgrounds

There's not that many hotels, I think, because most of the hotels are huge with hundreds of rooms, and those ones don't go bankrupt easily.

Exactly. The title says that Bulgaria is beating Romania once again. As you see they make reports how our seaside is way better than their.

Something interesting. It seems that there are only 5 countries ahead us.

Yep, I think the biggest problem related to Bulgarian tourism is the inadequate infrastructure. A real pain in the ass. BTW in a country ruled by wiser governments, the Cherno More highway would be built before say Lyulin. Moreover, the tourist municipalities are often managed by complete idiots. Lots of great natural/historical potential wasted because of the idiotic greed and small-mindedness not only of the mayors but the local population as well. E.g I can say lot of negative things about the Balchik municipality even though it seems they do their job much better than many other seaside municipalities:

* Cars parked everywhere and parking is a hell even though the municipality have built an underground parking lots in the downtown. This parking area is almost empty, heh.
* Some of the streets have cracks and potholes in the asphalt and semi-destroyed sidewalks which creates a very bad impression.
* Inadequate night lighting of historical hightlights, a shame.
* Some traders just do not deserve to be there.
* But hey, they are locals, so are the officials and so are the locals' cars serving them.
* If you don't have a road map then you'd better don't drive around. The road signs are awfully misleading, although the roads are good and the signs themselves are very new.
* Even there there are quite lots of ugly billboards (imagine Sunny Beach).

All those things can be easily fixed...and the effect would be just tremendous!

Yeah, that's the idea. They say that just 35% of our beaches respect hygiene norms and the crappy images are from Mamaia, the so called "pearl of the Romanian seaside".

"Aceeaşi mare, plaje total diferite! Bulgarii ne-au devansat" means "same sea, totally different beaches! The Bulgarians have left us behind".

Yeah, Romanians love sunflower seeds, they eat them everywhere and then just discard the package on the beach, in the sea... wherever. But trust me, a package floating is nothing for our seaside. Let's just say I thought I see a tree branch floating once, only to realize that's actually another type of brown "product". That was in Costineşti, not in Mamaia. But it's the same shit anyway... literally.

It happens sometimes to see the same here ... both about the sunflower seeds and the brown branch They should have filmed the Central Beach in Varna , not the one in Albena

Isn't Albena your top resort? Mamaia is our top resort (top of my ass actually), so it's only natural to compare it to Albena I guess.

Our most famous resorts are Sunny beach and Golden Sands, but IMO the best is Albena.
