Does anyone know what are all those red double decker buses parked by the terminal? Is there a bus line planned between the city and the airport and they will use those buses or what?

I think they must have carried some people to the airport especially for the opening day. Here are some pictures of the buses driving there.

I believe all the major hotels in Skopje have shuttle busses to the airport and back.
Also there are shuttle busses from the main buss terminal, but I don't know the details.

You know what, I just looked at it closer and you are probably right.
I have used the old airport many times and this layout is exactly what it used to be.

There is burger king everywhere in US and also at the airports,its not for poor people its just a chain of fast food restaurants same as KFC same as MOS burger.People like to take a bite and have a snack thats it.Macedonian airport is the best in the region and it will have the biggest capacity in the Balkans 4million people a year.Our goal is to be competative with modern countries from northern Europe though so I hope there will be new investment and they will make it even bigger.Macedonia is a rich country and has nothing to do with eastern europe,it never been in the eastern block.

Fast food chains are generally regarded to as focused on poorer customers. As for the biggest capacity in the Balkans, come on, please see what capacity have the airports in Sofia, Belgrade, Solun, Athens etc. Macedonia may have been richer than most of the eastern block in the past, however now, unfortunately, it's one of the poorer countries in the region according to the GDP/capita stats... Still, if we take the statues and the other things out of the equation, it's a nice modern terminal, much better than what Skopie previously had.

Mnogu linii ima od stanskite zemji do Prishtina a potoa so avtobus do Makedonija!!! Eve primer moite roditeli sakaa od svajcarija da letat kon mkd ama za kratok period da se vratat! Nemase linii, ednistvenoto sto imase bese linija Svajcarija- Kosovo a potoa so avtobus! Avtobusot go mrazat moite roditeli pa zatoa se odlucija da cekat direkten let
Toa e se, prishtina ni gi zema patnicite! A kolku lugje baraat preoz od mak aerodrom da ne spomnuvam!

Модернизираниот аеродром „Александар Велики“ ги пречекa првите патници

Министерски дочек со цвеќе и вино за првите патници. Во половина час денеска слетаа првите два авиони на новиот македонски аеродром Александар Велики. Први стигнаа чартер компанијата едел вајс од Цирих и Астријан на редовниот лет од Виена.


„Добродојдовте во Македонија. Ова е првиот лет на новиот аеродрод, а вие сте првиот патник“, вицепремиерот Владимир Пешевски и министерот Миле Јанакиески ги дочекуваа првите патници.

Половина час подоцна полетаа првите авиони за Цирих и Виена. Патниците воодушевени од новиот аеродорм.

„Многу е убав. Си исполнува сите стандарди. Мене лично ми е поубав од виенскиот аеродорм“, изајви патничка.

„Многу сум радонска што Македонија има ваков аеродром. Најубав на Балакнот“, изјави патничка.

„Многу е убав. Многу. Супер во однос на претходниот“, изјави патник.



Многу продавници, фришоп, првиот Бургер кинг во Македонија. Новиот аеродорм ги заслужува пофалбите што стигаат. Но, сега останува да се сработи најважното, да се донесат повеќе ниско буџетни комапнии и да се зголеми бројот на патници



„Очекувам дека драстично ќе се зголеми бројот на патници на новиот аеродорм“, изјави министерот за транспорт и врски Миле Јанакиески.
„Ова ќе биде добро за развој на туризмот, но ќе придонесе и за нови инвестиции“, изјави вицепремиерот Владимир Пешевски.

Турскиот концесионер ТАВ очекува дека Александар Велики ќе стане региоланен аеродорм, кој ќе прима по 4 милиони патници годишно, колку што е неговиот капацитет.

BK and McDonald's are fast food. People from all economic backgrounds eat at BK and McDonald's in the United States and in many places around the world.

Some are poor and cannot afford more. But in many instances, people want something very quickly.

In large airports where people are going from one plane to another, there is not often time to sit down at a nice restaurant. The poor generally cannot afford to go on long holidays on expensive airplanes!

Congratulations to my fellow Macedonians. Skopje's airport looks beautiful. Ohrid's airport also looks improved.

My mother and father are from Bitola and moved to the United States in 1962, but we used to visit often when my baba and dedo were alive. I last visited Macedonia in 1995 and may be going in late October while I am on holiday in Italy. It will be nice to see how things have changed. Skopje has become very modernized, and Ohrid's beautiful churches look better than ever!

Thanks New Orleans I live in USA too near by Sietle and Iam glad that you posted this,hopefully people in Macedonia would learn more and understand more about USA and the modern world cuz they belong there.Macedonia is a very modern and rich country and needs this kind of airport ,we are cosmopolitan nation.
