Turns out that the 4,4 mil euro injected into the public bus company in Skopje by the government is not enough for the purchase of 50 buses, if they are to be of the highest class like projected. The company is asking for 6 mil.
The 1,4 mil euro injected into the company by the city on the other hand are being used for purchase of mini-buses and adaptation of older vehicles to use natural gas. Quote:

BTW, the new buses were supposed to be already cruising through Skopje, but I guess nothing sticks to schedule here
![]() The early general elections are supposed to be the excuse for the delay apparently

That will be exactly known only after the tender, but they are obviously aiming for the most expensive on the market and I only hope that translates to the best ones and not that the extra money will go into somebodies pockets...

Since when has Skoplje become Luksemburg to be able to throw its money around like that? If it was me deciding, I'd opt for a sole source tender and order some of those new SANOS buses....because right now, its kind of funny that a number of them can be seen on Belgrade's streets (some of our private firms have ordered them) while they're still a figment of imagination in Skoplje.

But its so simple...by buying locally made buses you support local economy and jobs.

Anyway, I don't think this is the priority of the decision makers!

It's really sad that Belgrade has SANOS buses, but Skopje still has the old ones
I know when Belgrade ordered about 150 or so buses (off the top of my head) there were advertisements that the factory was looking to employ an extra 400 workers to complete the project.
