^^My trip to Cuba (60+ pics)^^

I made a trip to Cuba in May 2007 and took these pics. Enjoy!

******Part 1, Havana******

Street scenes
Some say Cuban citizens are not allowed to buy new cars. Don't know if it's true. Anyway, the country is called "museum of veteran cars".

******Part 3, Varadero******
Varadero, a top beach resort of the world, and the most "unCuban" part of Cuba. Big, clean, gorgeous, high quality. It was once exclusively for foreigners. Until April or May 2008, Cuban citizens had not been allowed to enter it and use its facilities.

Looks beautiful there. But I always thought people weren't allowed to vacation there?

They must take good care of those cars, I love old cars.

Yeah, its so surreal if you compare it to its capability of becoming a major tourism destination. I think only the USA has the tourist ban on Cuba. By the way, I saw the Philippine flag on the photo. How much did you spend on your trip? If I can ask you.

America should stop their Cuban embargo. Would love to go there some time.

USA doesnt allow it's citizens to go to Cuba. But if youre a citizen of some other country,
then you could go to Cuba from that country. Or even if youre not a citizen,
you could go to some other country first, and then to Cuba from there
(just as long as the Big Brother doesnt find out that you went to Cuba, lol)

Great phototour.
Sad story, as if time froze at T=1959.

Thanks for posting such great pix. After my first visit earlier this year, Cuba is now my destination of choice. Havana is absolutely fascinating - so much street life and activity and such mind blowing architecture. Can't wait to go back to Havana later this year.

Two thumbs up for Havana's architecture. In love with the city.

One smile for that austerous spirit, in spite of what it implies, it gives the city an unique charm.

When I lived in Florida I always wanted to check out Havana for a weekend. As soon as the Castro fools are out of office it will be the new Bahamas, and you'll see fat white pasty Americans on those beaches.

I should know, I am one.

Nice pics.

Hmm. The absence of fat white pasty Americans is one of the main reasons Cuba is so popular with non fat white pasty Americans. As for the Castro fools - well, they are still there after 50 years of an imbargo which has done little except make them heros in the eyes of the world. There is no doubt that the Cuban people deserve better than what they currently have but I wouldn't wish a horde of fat white pasty Americans on anybody.

Yes, how tragic! No IHOP or Apple Store for the Cubans. However will they survive without our commodities?

The truth is we are being fed lies about Cuba.

Notice the post-1950s cars in this picture:

Notice the construction crane in the horizon. Something large and new is being built in inland Havana.
