U mean Tinex will finally get some competition. Tinex has twice the markets Vero has and a much larger market share. I dislike their markets but the stats are pretty clear. Plus they are modernizing rapidly lately and I'm starting to like them. Plus they are domestic which gives them a (big) bonus at least for me
. And they have two new projects in Skopje, One being U/C (it should be finished by September) ![]() And one getting ready for construction soon

BTW there is one more Tus supermarket U/C already, in Kumanovo. 5 more should kick off the construction by the end of the year. Here is the model for their supermarkets.
![]() They also have pending hypermarket and mall projects.

I think they are doing some re-branding they have been changing lots of things visually lately but I still can't find a common pattern. Nevertheless they improve very fast which is a big change for them. In the past they seemed like they don't care.

Dewrob, where is the second Tinex market you mention (the one on the renderings) supposed to be built?

Interesting. I didn't even know Tinex existed. Either way: Vero, Tus or Tinex, the more competition, the better for the Macedonian consumer.
I still can't get over the fact that Metro has 3 stores in Moldova and none in Macedonia. They'd better rethink their strategy.

They recently had a public call for construction companies to give in offers. It will be placed somewhere on Prvomajska (I reckon somewhere in the Cementara stretch).

And it's beyond me why Metro (and others) are screwing around. Seriously each market that gets opened is swamped with people and it operates well. The Tus opening in Stip was just crazy. Mercator is the biggest enigma. They went in so aggressively, they bough great plots of land and suddenly everything stalled.

Doverie Brico is taking is time. It seems to be more concerned with the increased competition on the Bulgarian market right now. After the launch of Baumax's two stores and Praktiker's constant expansion, Doverie Brico sees a run for its money. It plans to open additional 3 stores in Bulgarian and, I know, that it has had plans to open two stores in Serbia for a while now. When you go to www.mr-bricolage.fr, they tell you on the website that the chain will enter the Serbian market very soon. I am unaware of Brico's plans about Macedonia. I think that the MK market can accomodate about 5 Mr. Bricolage stores.

In Bulgaria Brico cooperates with the Bulgarian American Enterprise Fund. The Fund builds and owns the real estate, Brico rents it. If they find a reliable partner in MK, I am sure, Brico will put MK high on its priority list.

Let's not forget that more and more Bulgarian companies are setting up shops in MK. Handy already has about 10 stores and partners with VIP. 2be has 6 or 7 stores that opened in the last couple of months. Technomarket is there, although its still some kind of a cooperation between the Bulgarian retailer and a local entrepraneur.

Maybe if they decide to lower the prices (ridiculously high as compared to Praktiker), they would be more competitive here. The only good thing about them is the garden equipment. Unlike their ads, the personnel is not at all so cooperative...the don't sell aquarium equipment anymore, I used to stare at the big aquariums there
However, now they sell lots of those F*CKING feng-shui books and that's really terrible. The only thing I'm gonna buy from them is the table and chairs for my new balcony. And all their stores have inadequate parking space.

The only aspect i find Bricolage better than Praktiker is that they have a lot bigger asortiment of decorative plants in their garden department, and they keep them in a lot better condition too. The garden equipment and machines are the same if not less as in the competition. In every other aspect i think Praktiker wins decisevely ... btw , they don't sell aquarium equipment anymore in Praktiker too
at least in the one in VT.
