I think that colours of these stones on real one and fake one in Bratislava are a bit different. Especially the blue one.

"Every year the first weekend of September Bratislava stages Coronation Festivites, a majestic reenactment of the historical coronation of Hungarian kings.

11 kings and eight queens were crowned in Bratislava between 1563 and 1830. Bratislava became the coronation city of Austria-Hungary following the battle of Mohacs in 1526, where the Ottoman Empire occupied parts of Hungary.


The 2010 Bratislava Coronation Festivities take place on September 5-6. The Coronation Parade starts on Sunday, September 5 at the Bratislava Castle and the ceremony will take place in the Old Town. This year the Festivities will commemorate the 1618 coronation of King Ferdinand IV."

So this summer it was coronation of Ferdinand IV. He became a king in year 1647 as a 14 years old child (!).

Édes Istenem, mennyire színvonalasabb ezeknél a mai ún. nemzeti rockot játszó zenekaroknál. A maiakat nem tudom hallgatni, de gyakran járok "feltöltődni" a Youtube-ra.

Not at all. I have never heard about some violence there, not even about nazi people etc. I think people in Bratislava are proud that Bratislava was capital of Hungary for nearly 300 years and it is really nice tradition which suppose to remind people about it so there are no problems. And anyway, that traditions is not Hungarian but Slovak.

btw, sometimes I am quite suprised how many Hungarians still live in Bratislava when I hear Hungarian on streets, in buses etc..

Fernando Botero egy remekművével gyarapodott a budapesti Szépművészeti Múzeum gyűjteménye. A kolumbiai mester a múzeumban most látható nagysikerű kiállítás egyik festményét adományozta a múzeumnak, így a csaknem egymillió euró értékű, 1992-ben festett Önarckép című alkotás a múzeum kortárs gyűjteményét gazdagítja majd. A mester hozzájárulásának köszönhetően a kiállítás tovább tart nyitva, az eredeti január végi zárás helyett egészen február 20-ig láthatóak majd Botero alkotásai a Hősök terén –tájékoztatta a Független Hírügynökséget a Szépművészeti Múzeum.


A múzeum vezetésében már a kiállítás megnyitása előtt felvetődött az ötlet: ráveszik a mestert, hogy egy művét hosszú távú letétként hagyja Budapesten. A kiállítás szeptember végi megnyitása idején az itt tartózkodó Fernando Botero rábólintott: addig itt maradhat egy alkotása, míg az intézmény szponzori segítséggel előteremti a vételárat. A művész később azonban módosította a döntését és nagylelkűen jelezte: a múzeumnak adományozza a saját magát torreádorként ábrázoló Önarckép című festményét. Az értékes alkotás a Szépművészeti gyűjteményébe kerül.

A február végéig látható kiállítást eddig több mint 60 ezren nézték meg, a népszerű alkotó munkáival első alkalommal találkozhat a magyar nagyközönség: a csaknem hatvan, javarészt nagyformátumú olajfestmény és szobor a művész elmúlt húsz évének munkásságáról ad áttekintést.

Az 1932-ben született, kalandos életű és rendkívül termékeny művész most bemutatott alkotásai bepillantást engednek Botero sajátságos világába, amely monumentalitásra és időtlenségre törekszik. A kiállításon egyben képet kaphatnak a látogatók arról is, hogy a kolumbiai művész miképpen merít ihletet és fejezi ki tiszteletét a klasszikusnak számító európai mesterek előtt, de tárlat elkalauzolja a látogatókat Latin-Amerika élettől duzzadó, színpompás vidékeire is. A Szépművészeti Párizsban
Az Esterházy-kollekció 50 jeles festményével találkozhat a francia nagyközönség.

Az elmúlt évi nagy jelentőségű londoni bemutatót követően január 26-ától a francia fővárosban mutatkoznak be a Szépművészeti Múzeum remekművei.

Párizs egyik leglátogatottabb kiállítóhelyén, a Pinacothèque de Paris-ban a múzeum gyűjteményének alapjául szolgáló, a magyar állam által 1870-ben megvásárolt Esterházy-kollekció 50 jeles festményével találkozhat a francia nagyközönség.

A május végéig látható kiállítás hazánk egyik fontos nemzetközi bemutatkozása Magyarország európai elnöksége alatt. A múzeum születése, a gyűjtő Esterházy hercegek című tárlat nem csupán a gyűjtő főúri család művészetpártoló tevékenységére fókuszál, hanem a magyar állam gyűjtemény gyarapítói szerepe előtt is tiszteleg.

A fiatal, 2003-ban alapított Pinacothèque de Paris napjainkban a francia főváros egyik leglátogatottabb kiállítóhelye, tárlatait százezrek keresik fel. A Pinacothèque népszerűségét jól mutatja, hogy a 2009-ben bemutatott A holland festészet aranykora című kiállításnak kétszer annyi, 750 ezer látogatója volt, mint a Louvre-ban párhuzamosan zajló velencei reneszánsz (Tiziano, Veronese, Tintoretto – riválisok Velencében) tárlatának. Az alapítványként 2003-ban létrehozott kiállítóhely 2007-ben költözött a Madeleine templom terén álló háromemeletes épületbe. A forgalmas belvárosban álló ház belsejét a megnövekedett látogatószám miatt a közelmúltban többszintes, szinteltolások segítségével megnagyobbított, kellemes hangulatú térré alakították át, amely így a legkülönbözőbb tárlatok befogadására alkalmas.

A most nyíló új épületrész avató-kiállítása lesz a Szépművészeti Múzeum párizsi bemutatkozó tárlata, amely az Esterházy-gyűjtemény legrangosabb részét, többek között Raffaello, Tintoretto, Veronese, Bellotto, Claude Lorrain, Frans Hals, Salamon van Ruysdael és Murillo remekműveit mutatja be. A gondosan összeállított anyag, az ötven festmény méltóképpen reprezentálja az egykori hercegi kollekció minden iskoláját. A Pinacothèque-beli kiállítást különösképpen izgalmassá teszi, hogy az Esterházy gyűjtemény mellett a Romanov cári család gazdag kollekcióját bemutató tárlat is látható lesz, így a közönség egyidejűleg kaphat képet Európa egykor egyik legjelentősebb uralkodói, illetve főúri gyűjteményéről.

A Szépművészeti Múzeumnak a párizsi kiállítás rövid időn belül a negyedik jelentős nemzetközi szereplése: ezeken a tárlatokon közel egy millióan találkozhattak a múzeum remekműveivel. Az utóbbi másfél évben a bécsi Kunsthistorisches Museummal közösen Tokióban és Kyotóban (a szigetország fővárosában rendezett kiállítás 2009-ben a világ 10. leglátogatottabb tárlataként zárt), a múlt év nyarán a moszkvai Puskin Múzeumban, ősszel pedig a londoni Royal Academy-n láthatta a nagyközönség a Szépművészeti remekműveit.

I like good modern "mainstream culture" as as opposed to the universal controlling solvent that is post-modernist deconstructivist nihilist culture (in the media) for the masses because they have a "great amount people to control" (porn, guns, violence, "culture of death", drugs, cynical fatalism, the glorification of the obsurd and outrageous, unabashed hedonism, instant gratification, depravity, "culture of fear", etc extolling psuedo-criminality meant to rob people of their souls and personal autonomy).

This radical humanism is meant to be a visceral raw optimal liberating experience for the people where people can harness and "live out" vast potentionals in blissful relativism partly fantasist in nature with a possible side effect of spiritual, social and moral enthrophy setting in. Think of nihilist deconstructionist cultural liberalism as Pandora's Box. If you open the lid too far the bright escaping radiation "makes people wilder", confuses them more firm in the belief that anything is possible including acts of anti-social behavior, ethical and moral ambivalence. Civilization's cornerstone - family values - is usurped in the pernicious quest for individual self-empowerment, and anything that "cramps their style" is disregarded. Sometimes closing the lid on Pandox's Box a little calms the people, they become genuine human beings with dignity with stronger ties to the community, they have direction, guidance, work ethic, integrity values, self-reliance, virtues, and most of all respect for one another and discipline. After all, "discipline is freedom", the undisciplined have no freedom, the undisciplined cannot advance through channels of meritocracy, they just a ephemeral unattainable mirage called "eternal hope"; although "hope" is sufficient to sustain a man's, woman's or child's in life's struggles. This is why proven conservative values mean so much to so many people.

It must have felt glorious and grand to have lived in Hungary during this time and be a part of the proud Magyar bourgeois.

This is the way the old Hungarian high aristocracy looked like in the early part of the 20th Century, absolutely lovely national regalia and costume:



I'm including a video of Franz Lehar's operetta masterpiece, "Vágyom egy nő után." that I consider the greatest opera song ever to be created out of the Hungarian bourgeois during the Regency era. Utterly glorious soul-appeasing song:



The greatest painting that Hungary ever created pre-1800s was done in the Late Gothic period. It was painted by the enigmatic and brilliant Hungarian master named Master M.S. in 1506. This is one of the greatest paintings ever produced to come out of the region.

It is simply called The Visitation (A.D. 1506), and portrays a very rapturing intimate encounter between the Virgin Mary and Saint Elizabeth, Hungary's most renowned saint. For me, this ranks very high on the artistic scale on par with the Mona Lisa. Beautiful isn't it.

She looks quite angry and antipathic to me. Imo if I go along the main street of my town I can find at least ten more sympathic and better looking girl than she.
