It's a hotel mostly, so views don't really matter much. plus is not as if there will be none. If the tower can be seen from all around, the opposite is true too.

This city is proof that the highest towers are not the best skylines

And your opinion is relevant to this tower how? I don't think this thread is about discussing sentiments towards Dubai's skyline

Every city has ugly towers, even New York.
Posting the telecom buildings is a cheat, they look like that for a reason.

But they wont ban for dubai boosting. You get made mod for doing that.

Sorry for this off topic
So I think this stunning tower will stand out from the others by its simple lines.

Currently on the 21st floor, now working at a rate of 1 floor per week so should top out around Q3 2017!

The 106 Tower site reminds me a lot of the close neighbour Marina 101 back in 2009; the black concrete covering is put on a bit earlier though (unfortunatelly, nearly all pics from those days are gone in that SCC thread ).

Let's see if Marina 106 will keep up that steady pace. In comparison, Marina 101 rose even twice as fast - 4 floors/month - over ground at the beginning, but became an unfinished tall shell for years, that finally is about to be completed this year.

106 has a different private developer than 101 and a different market conditions so I personally don't believe this one will suffer as much as 101.

What is more interesting to wait for is to see which render they are actually building, since we got 2 of them I tend to believe that what's on the project board is the official one but I might be wrong

is it confirmed this has 104 floors?

The 106 Tower has 104 floors?

that might be the most annoying thing in the world.

I'm hoping the flat roof design is final, it is far superior than the old one still on the project board

What is the black covering on the concrete? I've never seen that before. It doesn't appear to wrap around the columns so that rules carbon-fiber reinforcement.

same question was discussed recently on the local forum here you go:
