OH! And love your avatar BTW…I’m a big fan!
WOW - what a compliment, thank you very, very much You are so lucky to be living in Melbourne, I could move there yesterday and instead find that I am dying a slow death here in Auckland I can't wait to see how you view Melbourne, the more pics the better in my opinion. Thanks again for leaving such an invigorating comment

I also love street scenes and people pics - says so much about a city. When I return to MEL I will focus more on what is happening at street level. Thanks for the comment

Fark Sydney, how many photos did you take?! You must've been walking down the street taking one photo after another. They're great photos though, so I'm not complaining.

Any news on when you're moving over here? Australia [in general] is so much more livable now that that bastard Howard's out

I was in Sydney last weekend, it used to always impress me so much, but now that I live in Melbourne it just seems so vapid and trashy. So now I finally understand why you prefer Melb so much more. I still love Syd to bits, but it's so big and brash and quite working class, Melbourne pulls off a huge population so much more effortlessly :P

Too little I loved everything and took ten steps forward, stopped and snapped away. This was repeated over and over and over. Melbourne is a fantastic model and adores having her picture taken. A true beauty queen

My mother arrives from South Africa on the 16 November 2008 and then we have to get her "registered' and make her legal so that she can settle down so that we can leave After her paper work has been completed we will start our paper work for Australia which will probably take a couple of months. I am really not in the mood for the whole process AGAIN but I am also not prepared to wait another 3 years to gain NZ citizenship before we can move over to MEL hassle free. I am guessing that we will be there by December 2009.

It feels like forever but I shall keep myself busy until then and having my mum around will help - I am a bit of a mommy's boy

I agree, SYD and MEL are two complete opposites. Sydney is gr8 for a weekend fling but MEL is the kind of city where I can quite easily live for the rest of my life. It is classy, cutting-edge, sophisticated, arty, design driven, cultured and glitzy From a NZ perspective ..... Wellington is like Melbourne and Auckland is like Sydney (much smaller versions of their counterparts of course) ...
