Hungarian Sports thread

I think we could be proud of a lot of things in the history of our country, especially when we speak about sports. So, how about making a thread where we can discuss everyday sports from past to present...?

Yeah, this should be a good beginning. I've been waiting too for reactions on Saturday's friendly match with Greece. Was a brave game, at last!!!

So here we go, great thread. Hopefully will remain full of successful stories during the summer Olympics... Errr, guys, I'm not into the topic but I'm pretty much afraid of this year's Olympics because for while I'm having nightmares of Chinese winners in almost every sport in Beijing. Don't you have such bad feelings too? China is going to do everything do gather as much as possible, even in some semi-acceptable way. I hope the games will remain fair and money won't modify the just results.

Since we are talking about the Oylmpics, what do You think, how many gold medals our athletes will bring home for their and our glory? And in which Olympic disciplines?

I think around 5-6 seems to be reasonable, it can be more if we see some nice surprises. So we can have about 3 from kayak-canoe, 1 from waterpolo (the girls will be there too!), and 2-3 from other sports we are usally good at like swimming, fencing, modern pentathlon, wrestling, judo. And let's hope for the best, there can be surprises too like Igaly Diána in skeet

What do you think about this "Nemzeti vágta"? I think it has the potential to become a very good sporting and national event, though it would be good if there would be an amateur(hobby riders) and semi-professional(has racing experience, but not pro) category.

I have not seen it, but judging from pictures it must have been great. I really like the track:

A Győr grúz, a DVSC kazah ellenfelet kapott

Nyon, július 1., 14.06 A zöld-fehérek a Zestaponival, a piros-fehéreknek a Karagandival kerültek szembe.

A BL után az UEFA első selejtezőkörének párosításait is kisorsolták Nyonban, az európai szövetég székhelyén. A Magyar Kupa-győztes Debrecen és a Soproni Liga harmadik helyén végző Győr is kiemeltként várta a sorsolás, ezért viszonylag könnyebb ellenfél várt rájuk. A zöld-fehéreknek végül a grúz Zestaponi, a Loki-nak pedig a kazah Sahktyor Karagandi jutott.
A győriek itthon, a hajdúságiak idegenben kezdik a párharcot, a találkozókra július 17-én, illetve július 31-én kerül sor.
