this historical axis doesn't suits this skyline !!

The balance is not respected!! Who is the stupid guy who runs la defense scheme development?

In usa or london or again asia business districts includes the taller buildings at the centre! This is not respected here with this axis they don't respect! Why can't we make things like this? it is an international shame

Paris is such a beautiful city! These towers will in my opinion make a great addition to a allready spectacular capital

i have a question, the space in front of the twin towers and linked to the seine water, will it be private with barriers or will it be a public place with even "racailles" who could make their "business" ??

Emin Iskenderov said this place will be a public space (with a size like "la place du trocadéro").

The scum, it does its business where the police let him do it. If it is before the binoculars, it will be before the twins. I can imagine a large fountain on the plaza of the binoculars, between them. Generally, the fountains are well suited to Defence, there are several. I could see well enough a little green too. Just a question by the way, do you know why the Arch of La Defense is slightly skewed relative to the perspective from the Louvre and which passes by the Arc de Triomphe?

It wasn't possible to lay the foundations parallel to the axis because of the freeway/subway/RER/tramay/suburban lines/ghost tunnels if I recall correctly.

Ok, thank you for the information. However, what is this piece of "political Greater Paris"? I've never heard of this. Is expanding the town, itself, of Paris, making new districts? And what would be the point?

Oui.

Architects in Paris should focus more in iconic designs and quality rather than heights and quantity. Another fact is that La De'fense is lack of big pond, river or sea around it, unlike Manhattan, Chicago, Sydney, San Francisco, Singapore or Hong Kong etc. The only thing that inspires me is Eiffel Tower, it is not only marvellous, also iconic structure for both Paris and France.

It's coming dude...by 2016/2018 La Défense will have several huge iconic skyscrapers, Hermitage Plaza & Phare in particular...hopefully Osmose will be topical again...if those get built, La Défense will look absolutely fantastic & impressive.

But actually one could imagine that the tax pro or its successor (which I do not know the name, if anyone can help me) would be paid to the department or someone else. The suburb is well as it seems to me there!

Even better! Try not to think of who should be taxed what or who should benefit from that tax... Try to conceive that taxing and then redistributing doesn't actually create any revenue but simply stifles wealth and job creation.
I know you're French and it'll be hard but still... try.

The question is: Does Paris really need more landmarks ????
Some "Iconic designs" are needed, indeed, in the insignificant cities who want to be part of.................

But Paris doesn't need new "Iconic buildings" (tall or not) because when it comes to "iconic".... I want to believe that Paris is quite perfect....

Notre-Dame Cathedral
Eiffel Tower (aka the tallest construction ever built on earth...until NYC decided otherwise)
Arc de Triomphe
Les invalides
Palais de Chaillot (Trocadéro)
Palais de Tokyo

Palais/Musée du Louvre.....

Beaubourg
Panthéon
Musée d'Orsay
BNF
Versailles ...................
La Grande Arche
St-Sulpice
Montmartre basilica

etc etc etc etc etc etc

Trying to outdo yourself when it comes to engineering and architectural mastery cannot hurt.
Actually... Yes it can if you dump a boring 400 m glass needle where it's not needed just for the sake of it but my point is, no one will complain if something worthy comes out of that LD regenerating development scheme. For me, Phare would be the one so far.
Also, Paris (France as a whole) is famous for complacency so really, a little bit of a push towards modernity isn't something we should damper with old-times-pride-and-glory.
