Lol, I think this forum did that. And congrats Paris btw. The inner Londoner inside me says I should hate this, but it's a nice project (although I must add it could be in a better location within La Defense). However for a top heavy skyscraper, it looks fantastic (IMO most top heavy skyscrapers look a bit less than desirable, but a good job has been done here).

The eifel stands far away of la defense. So it will dominate at it part.

yeah i know and also it wont lose any significance. it is an iconic symbol and other supertalls for business and whatever cannot weaken this symbol.

I'm quite fond of the Hermitage towers. Being done by Foster, the cladding sure won't disappoint.

But I'm wondering about this being stated in the initial post of the thread:

Some current update on the project's status would be much appreciated - and especially if the first post could be edited accordingly.

I thought there was actually a rule that said no building can be taller than the Eiffel Tower, either way, really nice Twin Towers.

Update

To date, the Hermitage twin towers are very likely to be scaled down owing to the DGAC (Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile), according to them indeed, their initial height would interfere with the aircrafts traffic...therefore the twin towers would be losing almost 20 metres (323m -----> 307m).

That's not official yet but it's likely to be in the next few weeks/months. To be continued...

The public enquiry is over!

The public enquiry of the Hermitage project in La Défense is coming to an end today. A first step towards the carrying out of those twin towers which once built, will be the tallest of France.

The planning permission is hoped for november, if so, the demolition will follow by the end of this year.

Emin Iskenderov, Hermitage CEO :"we already have over 3500 buyers"

And Iskenderov claims to have 3500 sales already, 65% of these to French clients.

That information is mentionned underneath the photograph Matthieu...

I don't know what can prevent the planning permission from being granted next november, does anybody know? If Iskenderov asserts that the demolition will follow (once the green light given), it probably means that they eventually succeeded in kicking out the remaining bloke living in the Damier d'Anjou...

If Mr. Iskenderov really is going to be building these two, I will send him a big kiss! They will change the outlook of La Defence for the best really.
