Okay boys

"When will they start to build the twin towers of Paris?"

or is the question, will they ever?

hope the answer can cheer me up. Paris is a fave destination for me "architecture" and " Art and History" wise and these two towers can make the view from the top of Arc de Triomph even more dazzling.

Emin Iskenderov (Hermitage boss) has been trying his best to relocate the remainings residents of the 'Damiers' but they refuse categorically to go and even sued Hermitage & Logis Transport. They also blame those companies for pressuring them on a daily basis & for treating them disrespectfully. The relocation procedure has started 3 years ago, yet, it's still not completed...

Besides, late 2011, Iskenderov has sued some nimby association, claiming 8 millions €, an amount that has been calculated to cover the project's massive delay (appeals...)

It appears that those residents are also trying to save time, both to get as much money as possible from Hermitage but also, owing to the forthcoming presidential elections in may...indeed, if François Hollande was to beat Nicolas Sarkozy, it's very unlikely that he will take over the project (in terms of support), therefore Hermitage Plaza will be compromised.

Please note that there is the winter break as well which prevents some of those residents from being asked to leave.

We'll keep you informed of it all...

It is the first time I see pictures of the base of these towers. It looks really nice.
For the tower themselves, I can't say I like or dislike them. I'm not really interested in this project. Their only good thing is that they are twin towers...

Here it is CharlotteJ .

Our talented comrade ERICPARIS (from the PSS forum), had done this amazing montage a few weeks ago:

ps: only GENERALI is missing, let's hope that it will be taken over by another investor, its design /top would really bring an extra thing to the skyline.

Off course it would. As more people like such projects, the more reason for internationally operating corporations and other companies to choose for Paris La Defence as to locate their headquarters! it will give a boost to the entire region's economy and job growth/creations.

The project is great, so i've signed

but usually corparations count from the point of cost and revenue from the project rather than from people's view on it

I dont like the cladding ( too much blue and 90"s style ), the localisation and the shape.

I like the towers somewhat, but this definitely is the wrong location.

But actually it doesn't matter anyway. La Defense will be a collection of horrendous, buttugly towers soon if the other projects get built. My eyes are bleeding.

The problem is that every single time that a project (even amazing) is proposed in France (& particularly in Paris), it is systematically criticized & bashed by the same old nimbies/opponents/cavemen, & you can only hear them.

So, the aim if this petition is to show the media that there are also loads of people in favor of this scheme, they do need to make themselves heard as well, & actually it does have an impact as a recent article was published in 'Le Parisien' (daily paper+ website) which said that a ferocious petition battle was taking place regarding the Twin Towers project.

Evidently, there are a lot more people interested in Hermitage Plaza & willing to see them come true. Indeed, to date 359 people have signed it (petition created on 19 december 2011), when 111 people have signed the petition opposed to the project (petition created on 28 dec 2011).

Therefore, the more people sign it, the more the media will focuse on it. It does work, so there's no point in stopping now .

@ Moustache: your bad taste no longer is a surprise to me...what a moaner you are...typical frenchman...
