Russians have indeed contributed Dostoevsky, Tchaikovsky, Pushkin, Kandinsky, Prokofiev ... and many, many more ... to the core European culture. However, their recent behavior is not in tune with modern European values. But hey, nor was the behavior of Germans, 70 years ago, long after Hegel and Goethe. Hopefully, this is just a passing phase in Russia.

Actually origin Dostoevsky - Belarusian and Tchaikovsky - Ukrainian. But they certainly were part of the Russian Empire...

SOrry, but these the most hideous skyscrapers I've ever seen in my life. I#m a big skyscraper-fan, but please - they should make an effort, at least concernig the proportionality.

Anyway! The opponents now have two months to appeal to the supreme administrative court of France. The supreme administrative court of France usually takes 1 year to process appeals, so we can expect a final judgment towards December 2015 (if the opponents of course are willing to gamble money by appealing to the supreme administrative court; they may instead decide to call it quit).

So in the worst case scenario, this project is starting in 2016.

Taking the case to the suprem administrative court, does not freeze the project. They could start now if they like. It is simply a personal choice to wait.
But I heard they are not willing to wait much longer before starting the pre-demolition work.

Euh...in fact, there is still people in the olds buildings. So we have to wait. Moreover, we don't know how the negociation between Hermitage and the ASL is going.
Donc non, ils ne peuvent pas commencer, même s'ils le veulent.

While they are beautifully designed towers, I can't help but think they look stupidly out of place in that location. Wouldn't it be better to have one on each side behind La Grande Arche? It would create a more aesthetically pleasing gate-like effect, without disturbing, or overshadowing the rest of the skyline. But that's just me throwing in my two cents, and of course I'm happy supertalls are becoming less alien in western Europe.

What Paris deserves is still beauty and uniqueness to cope with its inheritage.

What is the value of "tallest" according to you ?

Its in La Defence, you don't have the heritage issues like you do in the older downtown of Paris. Build it, I say.
