Paris deserves better than this.
Edit: Paris deserves much better.

I think that these towers and La Défense both look somehow average. Let me explain, I don't want to be misunderstood.
First of all, I love Paris.
When I see how great looks the classical architecture of Paris and so many other styles like Beaux Arts and Art Nouveau the impression I have is the next one: these people are really into aesthetics.
When I see Place de la Concorde, Place Vendôme, Pont Alexandre III, Notre Dame de Paris, The Louvre, I think the city looks very nice and one of the nice aspects of La Défense is that it is separate from the rest of the city, yet still fits in, I like the idea to make the business district close to the inner suburbs instead in the central part, in order to preserve the classical charm of the city.
I think Paris, or La Défense in this case with the contemporary architecture deserves better.

Why so difficult to built anything in La Defense? First Tour Sans Fins, then Tour Phare, and now (maybe?) Tours Hermitage?

This thread had begun in 2008. It's 2017 now, almost a decade later.
It's beginning to look at this point that we've been chasing pipe dreams all along.

an article on LeParisien newspaper a few days ago (in french)

http://www.leparisien.fr/puteaux-928...17-6706383.php

Quote:
