Wow, I enjoy and watch a lot of football (soccer) and you are still an *******. Plenty of Americans enjoy and follow it, you're the ignorant one.

South Africa and Brazil were great choices, now it will be Eastern Europe, one of the Arab countries, mid East, maybe north Africa, Turkey is another good one and is close to Europe , FIFA has a policy of popularising football in countnewely developed/developing countries.

No-one doubts that a World Cup in the USA would be bigger and more profitable than any tournament before. But I fear it would be as soulless and without a trace of passion as it was in 1994.

I watch football since the mid 1980s and 1994 WC was by far the worst I can remember. Flashy sunlight, quiet crowds and not a single game that stands out. On top of that the vice-president to hand over the trophy. The 1994 WC revealed the USA don't care about football. So shouldn't football care about the USA ever again.
My God you are ignorant.

After having numerous arguments with you, you're starting to grow on me If you have the opportunity to visit South Korea let me know through private message. I'll treat you to this pork belly bacon called samgyupsal. Every foreigner I treated to it didn't hesitate to give thumbs-up to its fantastic taste.

In the above picture she's with beer but I recommend you this Korean style whiskey called soju which has around 20%-25% alcohol.

In fact she tasted samgyupsal with soju later and then said it was a millon times better than the previous combination. Samgyupsal with soju is one of the best dishes for Koreans especially on cold winter evening.

Don't get me wrong, baby. I never hate America and Americans. I do only when football is concerned

Some people don't understand or like certain sports.
I think what has upset people about that particular poster was his claiming only the US was a suitable host for the World Cup and then appearing to mock the sport and claim the rules needed to be changed.

An analogy would be after some NFL official said he wanted to see a Superbowl in London and then having English folk produce a list of rule changes they'd like to see.

For the record, I think holding a Superbowl in London or anywhere else outside of the US would be a massive slap in the face to NFL fans. I wouldn't doubt the novelty of it would make it hugely profitable and no doubt thousands of fans would fly over to watch. It would most likely have to be played very late, local time so as to fit in with the primary audience. But it would still be highly unpopular with the supporters who care about the game.

Rover3, you might want to read that twice before you blunder in with a response

Oh my God!!., this is an all time low for any thread that I have read., Man, I do really wish that the WC returns to the US soon, it's in the best interest of the sport itself., One of the really beautiful things about soccer is that it can be played in daylight (not only during the night for the europeans), in synthetic grass, in multipurpose stadiums, in front of not "soccer educated" crowds and certainly so it can be played in other places not named Europe or Southamerica.

I think there needs to be 16 venues for the tournament. Each team playing in three different stadiums each to take care of the fan base. I'd like to see this:

New England (Gillette Stadium) 69,000
New York (New Giants Stadium) 82,000
Philadelphia (Lincoln Field) 68,000
Washington (Fedex Field) 92,000
Georgia (Sanford Stadium) 92,000
Miami (Dolphin Stadium) 75,000
Cleveland (Browns Stadium) 73,000
Detroit (Ford Field) 64,000
Chicago (Soldier Field) 62,000
Denver (Invesco Field) 76,000
Dallas (New Cowboys Stadium) 80,000
Kansas City (Arrowhead Stadium) 79,000
San Diego (Qualcomm Stadium) 71,000
Los Angeles (New Coliseum) 75,000
San Francisco (New 49ers stadium) 68,000
Seattle (Qwest Field) 68,000

Round of 16 games in:

Philadelphia
Denver
San Diego
Cleveland
Detroit
Georgia
Seattle
Kansas City

Quarter Finals:

New England
Chicago
Dallas
Miami

Semi Finals

Los Angeles
San Francisco

3rd Place

New York

Final

Washington

You should blame Indiana Jones first. To me ******* means a hole that human solid excrement comes out of since I'm not a native American To be more exact, my English teachers in school have to blame for not teaching American slangs.

Sorry. My English is not good enough to troll this thread. You're overestimating my English. I'm just a poor English speaker who is neither a native nor has been abroad so far.

In a thread based upon the World Cup in America, you are always going to get extremeists on both sides basically consisting of.

American Arrogant type - "We don't care about 'Soccer' it's a silly sport and only for kids! despite this we had the biggest turnout in world cup history! Have that the rest of the world! U.S.A.! U.S.A.!"

And of course the contrasting "rest of the world" type, predominantly from Europe stating how - "Football, that's right FOOTBALL not soccer, is the world's game, it is far, far, far superior than any sport americans play. The U.S.A. doesn't deserve to host it again."

Now basically Arrogant American will say something, to then be counterattacked by Arrogant rest of worlder...and the cycle continues. However there are some on this board who accept other people's opinions, if they vary from their own!

Every country has the right to make a bid, and the U.S.A. probably has one of the more readily available infrastructure's to host the tournoi, despite the fact the majority of the stadiums are not designed for the sport. The recent growth in interest in the MLS (partly because of David Beckham) has surely only been good for Football in the states, and hosting the World Cup would only increase that interest.

I say this as a British person, about to undertake a year abroad for university in Indiana University.

Go Hoosiers!

The current WC format requires 10 to 12 venues. So, there won't be more than 12 even if the US could provide a lot more.

A sensible post. However, it is in no way arrogant to point out that the USA don't deserve to host it again in the forthcoming years. A country usually waits up to sixty years to host the WC for a second time. I don't see a reason why the USA should be privileged by hosting this tournament more frequent than elsewhere.
Italy had to wait 56 years, France 60 years, England probably 52 years and Brazil even 64 years. And these are all great football nations where the game is a integral part of their culture. The US on the other hand is football-wise a mid-size nation at best where the games popularity might be growing, from a low level though.
We can talk about a WC in the USA in thirty years time. But for now there are many other nations who are capable and longing to stage the World Cup.

I agree that the U.S. probably shouldn't host another tournament so soon since hosting the 1994 cup (relatively recently compared to other nations like England) however I don't believe that they shouldn't host it because football isn't as important towards their culture as other nations. The World Cup is about bringing nations together in a joint love for the game, and I for one would not judge the U.S. with some "holier than thou" attitude if they did apply, due to the beneficial effects it would have for the sport.

But saying that, like i said earlier, i think the 2022 is a bit too soon following the 1994 world cup, and would prefer the tournament to head back to England .
