To me Coloseum looks bigger ad the sighlines could be better because its steeper
And the USC Trojans are red-yellow like my club

While at Rose Bowl UCLA Bruins are blue-yellow like the biggest rival of my club

Agreed, classy stadium. What would the size be in this case?

Pretty much the same thing thay did in the renovated Chicago Soldier Field., They let the outside intact and renovated the inside. I like it very much. LA Coliseum is a landmark.

Yeah im sure, the Rose bowl may not be steeper but the seats go far back, kinda like Michigan stadium. The LA Coliseum and the Rose Bowl both seat around 92K

it is a little small, i believe that when the WC was played there in '94 they made an exception to the rules

but it wont be there in 2022 so it doesnt matter anyway

#1 - So which will it be?

#2 - And can a congressman just say we demolish it to ease the budget if it has a landmark status?

#1 - Well, en1044 posted one of the renovation schemes for the LA Memorial. So the one I re-posted is for a possible new one east of LA, so in a city called West Covina. But it would happen only if they can get an NFL team.

The renovation of the LA Memorial won't happen either UNLESS it can get an NFL team. I doubt that the USC contract can warrant something like a $200 mil renovation.

#2 - A congressman can propose it -- but there will be other bodies to block or confirm that proposal. Will probably be blocked -- but at the same time, there's no money to really update it. So it'll probably just stay the way it is....

The 115K mark was only reached when it had that baseball game. So they added like 15,000 seats on the field and the Peristyle area to bring it up to 115k. During the Olympics, I believe the highest paid day was around 98,000 or so. (I have it in my books, but I am too lazy right now to go get it.)

well, capacity, pitch, and access/parking are better for the Rose Bowl than for the Coliseum.

You're pretty optimistic if you think those are happening.

Are the 49ers still thinking about moving to the San Jose area?

A done deal?

Also, isn't there a stadium being planned for City of Industry?

Oops, City of Industry. See earlier in the thread -- the one I referred to as going to be in West Covina. That's the one.

Re 49ers- yes, I think they are serious about Santa Clara. Overall, it makes more sense for them to build there than in Hunters Point, SF. But of course the City of SF is crying foul. Santa Clara is just finding its best bargaining chips in hosting the 49ers.

it really sucks for the bay area...The A's might be leaving Oakland, the 49ers might be going south. i know its always about the money but some of these moves are just soulless IMO.
