DUBAI | O-14 | 102m | 22 fl | Com

I decided to post this since the construction method is interesting.

Stats
Name: O-14
Location: Business Bay (in front of Ubora Towers and near Burj al Alam)
Height: 102m
Floors: 22
Use: Offices
Space: 300,000 sq feet
Architects: http://www.reiser-umemoto.com
Other random facts:
Has 1000 openings.
The building's held up by the core and exoskeleton so the space inside is column free.
1m space between facade and windows allows hot air to rise and cool air to come in from below.

Construction method and cooling are both interesting, but the tower itself is really awful.

I don't like it. But it is unique, which a city like Dubai can pull off a lot easier than other cities around the world.

It looks like a big piece of swiss cheese.

Very cool building! I think this one would also fit very well in a city in the Netherlands, Rotterdam for instance.

not really sure it would sute in the Netherlands, maybe in Japan, see Toyo Ito's work in Tokyo.
anyway, this is a very good 21st century architecture presence in Dubai, which, BTW, i couldn't say the same for many other highrises in this city.

That kind of reminds me of the facade of the Jumeirah Han Tang Hotel in Shanghai.

While I do appreciate creativity in modern architecture, this kind of looks like the box I throw my dirty laundry into.

Are you confusing Rotterdam with Almere maybe
I like it, but its really something for Dubai. No other city can get away with that kind of architecture.

Poor design... Imagine how dark it will be inside during the day? A city like Dubai should have towers which make the most of daily sunlight.

What if that Miami tower proposal was designed by the same Architect?
