And then you worship an object of luxury like the car in your avatar.

Just build the museum, please. And let's not use this thread as an excuse for biased religious opinions. Let's just focus on the museum itself.

Hypocrisy immediately comes to mind.

Dubai's rulers are so fond of their western rulers that they absolve all crimses of westerners, including that notorious british couple in beach case.

And now they want to do this?

Nobody "worships" their avatar, you being a car fanatic may have different ideas.

that's just a view point.

the people of Dubai want this to be built. it is an islamic city after all and the people are very kind and modest, however night clubs and all "crap" if you will that fall in that category is something that the people has nothing to do with it. it all there because of the government and all the tourism bull crap.

if it was up to the people not a single bar , night club or a 1 star hotel *cough* would exist.

Other than that Dubai is the best place for such a project because it keeps a line between the two worlds, and a line that cannot be crossed without punishment.

It is a tourism destination " which goes very well with the cultural project" including the museum. Also it adds to the great projects are contribution to islam that Dubai has done that no other city or country has with the exception of saudi arabia.
i will list some.

The Islamic character of the year
Dubai holy Quran award
Al Maktoum Islamic foundation in Scotland i guess
The Ramadan Tents if you will ( with Muslim scholars brought from different countries on the expense of the Government of Dubai .
Special Muslim public lectures held by highly respected Muslim scholars from the UAE and other countries specially Saudi Arabia.
..
.etc

No other place has done anything nearly to Islam nowadays that can match what dubai has. but unfortunately people always look on the dark side of everything famous or successful which is really sad.
i really do hope to see dubai as a better city but who knows.

yes, lets get everyone to pretend there muslims to avoid the tax.

Next you will be moaning when those very same people are eating sandwiches and using their blackberry's in the mosque on a friday, whilst they pretend to be muslims?

of course they shouldn't pay jizyah. because zakah is not being enforced at the moment .

when zakah will be enforced then we should ask them to pay jizyah .
also in islam jizyah is payed in exchange for living and being granted protection . and freedom of religion ( Christianity or Judaism) within the Islamic law.

international laws are bull shit

these are just laws on papers , they have no effect in countries "super power countries" .

All these laws are made to make the world look like a nice place and safe place to live in. But they have no effect in say the US . All human rights, civil rights and criminal law specially the one signed in Geneva can't be considered active when they don't want it to be , and of course no one can oppose.

take Guantanamo bay for example , it is located outside the US so these rules cannot be used in favor of the detainees.

and no altinD i don't think that jizyah will take place any time soon
