He received Padma Sri for the charitable works. He took the initiative to conduct the wedding of 107 poor couples last year, giving dowry to the girl, a job for the boy at gulf based on his qualification, and the entire weedding expense. From reliable sources what i could understand is, he have baught Blue Diamond Mall too.

Wow great achievements for a Padma Shri. I have seen his full page advertisement in all Malayalam news papers congratulating himself for winning Padma Shri. I think the Padma Shri sequence in Pranchiyettan and The Saint is inspired from him.

Aslesh, anyway I do not know about the other sides.

But one thing is that he is the only NRI businessmen from Kollam who is doing something to Kollam city or district. If you look at Malabar region and Trichur, there are lot of NRI businessmen investing and bolstering the develoment process of the respective regions.

Kollam was relatively underdeveloped and thanks to Ravi Pillai and a couple of good ministers from Kollam such as P.K Gurudasan and MA Baby who have helped the city and the district to be on par with other peer cities in terms of development projects and infrastructre in the last 3 to 4 years.

I could really see the changes when I visit Kollam. Annan kunjum thannalayathu ...that is what I think about RPs noble deeds. Other things are imaterial to those who enjoy the benefits as well as the 107 couples.
