One thing I always observed in the U.S and hoped for in India is building roads, curbs and basic infrastucture before the home construction is begun. It was always ulta in India. Glad to see nice roads with divider in place while the towers are still raising.

The surrounding areas are witnessing a lot of similar projects from Arun Excello , Marg , TVH . So the desert like feel should be gone in a few years.

I wish TN gvt allots some land and make a Central Business District at Sriperumbudur for Auto majors corporate offices!

This will get a chance for Chennai to host many of Indian HO for those Auto majors!

Sriperumbudur is still a town. It doesn't have railway station, airport, malls, etc. In the future Chennai and Sriperumbudur will become two cities like hong kong, shenzhen.

I disagree - I think Chennai and Sriperumbudur will in fact become more closely linked - more likely the city will extend all the way and grow to include SPR + Oragadam..

The new airport at Sriperumbudur and rail line connecting Chennai and SPR are inevitable developments and will happen sooner or later (I guess probably later) - which will link the two cities closer still..

I too feel Chennai and Sriperumbudur will we seen as one entity. It will always be part of Chennai city as Chennai is expanding west and southwards.

forgot about rail line! If Indian railways lay any railway line from Avadi to Maraimalai nagar via SRPD it will bring a new slum corridor there like Chennai-Korukkupet or like anywhere in the countries metropolitan.

It is better not to spoil the SRPD growth corridor with such slum corridor.

Express metro lines or like planned rapid rail transport around Delhi should be implemented for Chennai-Sriperumpudur-Kanchi, Chennai-ECR-Pondicherry etc.,

Already Chennai-Chengalpattu, Chennai-Gummidipondi, Chennai-Arrakonam is served by suburban! If we need Indian railways to build railway line for ECR and NH4 then again British east Indian company need to set up its fort in Madras...

thirumba first la irunthu varanum...

@ Arul's Photos

Wow! Fresh angles and not seen earlier locales. Thanks

Nice to see your watermark on the photos. Can you make it not so bold?. Sometimes, they may spoil the picture.

Prashanth does it in a subdued way but big enough in the background. Pl ask him how he does it.

Hiranandani Palace Gardens

Hi everyone,

There was an ad in The Hindu paper yesterday about this project mentioning that the possession for High rises will be given in Dec 2011.Lots of news were floating around that there would be significant delays in handing over. But it looks like Hirco is meeting schedules.I happened to visit the place a week ago. The construction works are
in full swing.

Cheers.
