So amazing how Panama City builds...even though it is still such a poor country, it builds like first world cities. Is it because of it being a tax haven? All polititians from Brazil have bank accounts there...LOL

Panama is poor? Where did you get that bright information from? It is one of the most developed countries in Lain America along with Chile and Uruguay!

It´s still a poor country (not like "such a poor country"), but is growing faster than any other economy (above 11%) on the continent, Panama City is been seeing as the Capital of Latin America, a very cosmopolitan city, with first world infrastructure. Maybe the whole country is not developed but there are certain areas inside the city that have nothing to envy to big developed cities as New York, Chicago, or Sao Paulo (the touristic area I mean), London, Miami, etc.

Sao Paulo is the odd man out. It is NOT a developed city! Panama is surely more developed...

I know is not developed, but certain areas of the city look like that, I mean the touristic sites look very good with all the services a mayor class city of the world could offer, but you´re right we can´t call that a developed city if is not the whole city, Panama has a long way to go also, but as you said is on the race to be developed and in Latin America is the fastest growing economy.

Since many decades ago. Maybe you are young, but just FYI while most of the Latin American countries were in the middle of huge economic crisis, dictatorships (not that we were not and poverty, Panama was stable the most develop business center in LATAM, was the main Banking System of the whole region (even today Panama's banking systems is highly sophisticated, I know because I am a banker I have worked in NYC, Sao Paolo and Dubai) and Panama has nothing to ask from those banking centers (maybe better salaries

For many years immigrants from all over the world went to Panama to develop businesses there from Europeans, to jewish from Europe, to Arabs, to Chinese. Why? because it was the most stable economy, mainly for being dollarized. Of course, Panama is small, in population the smallest country in LATAM if I am not wrong, and quite honestly I don't think the Goverments of Panama in the past have been the best at taking full advantage of the full potential Panama has, but I do consider that for the size, the fact that Panama is a poor country that does not get easy money (i.e. selling oil for example) makes even more respectable the development the country is having (be it huge, or be it small) To the Panamanian, I just have to say that to reach a "developed" status we need to work harder, particularly in education (which is not bad, is actually good) but to be developed you have to be closer to excellence!!! Saludos!!!!

Great height but why do they have to make such U-G-L-Y towers in Panama City? At least I'm happy to see that the nasty "fruit bowl tower" was canceled.
