I like the new livery. The front is a bit dull, but the sides look very sleek.

Israeli reopening project disrupts services
Monday, May 18, 2015

TRAIN services on Israel's coastal main line between Haifa and Nahariya will be disrupted for six months to enable the construction of a new junction which will connect the new Valley Line with the coastal main line at Haifa Lev Hamifratz, where a new station will be built

No trains will operate between Haifa and Nahariya between May 26 and May 31 to enable the laying of a new single-track line. This will bypass the existing double-track line which will be taken out use to enable construction of the new junction

Also, the railway to Nazareth is meant to be a mainland railway, not a tram like the first option they considered. I don't know if that blog is updated.

Since I'm a new user, I can't post a map of what services would look like, but by 2017ish, Raanana West and South/East stations, Jerusalem HaUma Station, Ofakim (Ashkelon - BS), Valley line stations (To Bet Shean) and Kfar Menachem and Mazkeret Batya (Railway to BS), and Sapir (Netanya's industrial area) will be added.

Tel Aviv is getting a new train terminal. Currently, Tel Aviv Central Staion is only a stopping station connecting northern railways to southern railways, but now more trains can terminate at Tel Aviv.

Sorry, but I can't post links. Also, there are no articles about it in English, so Google "תל אביב רכבת מרכז טרמינל" and choose the "PORT2PORT" result, and there are pictures there of what it would look like..

It seems this is the new northern exit for the existing central station which has been discussed previously on skyscrapercity (perhaps in a different forum).

Thank you for helping me to find the article.

I recognize that place, I was there 6 weeks ago. This is Tel Aviv Ha Hagana,
right ?

Took some nice pictures from the corridor starting from the left of the
picture, it gives a very nice view over the tracks to the south...

Seen lots of interesting things, like the reconstruction of the Jeezrel Valley
railway, or the broken bridges in the Yarmuk valley...

Visited the Haïfa railway museum too, and purchased that wonderful book
from Paul Cotterell about history of railways in the region. Also got his other
book on the same subject from Amazon. But the story told by those books
mostly ends before year 2000. Lots of change happened to Israel Railways
since then. Anyone has a good book to recommend for more recent railway
history ?

The Valley railway isn't a reconstruction, it's a new railway with modern standards and a relatively straight route, besides being temporarily single and not in electrification priorities, due to the unpopulated area. The old railway was a narrow gauge bendy railway.

I don't think there's a book about 2000 and foreward, and I can't list it over here, but railways, like the railway to Jerusalem reopened, and new railways like Rishon via Lod, Modiin via BG, Ashkelon via Rishon, Kfar Saba via Rosh Haayin, and Ashkelon - Beer Sheva WIP railways were opened until now. Some railways needed duplicating and upgrading. Many new stations were built, or refurbished, or replaced. Rosh Haayin south was built on the eastern railway, and closed down when the sharon railway was opened.

Now they're building the valley line, the Carmiel line, the extention of the Ashkelon - BS line, and the line to Jerusalem, and some stations on existing lines.
