In Oslo there will be similar metro trains like in Warsaw
Both ale already u/c and stand in the same hall. Polish journalists confused one with the other

that one is for Warsaw

and that for Oslo

model 1:1

Nice to see the trains are in production, they are really needed in Oslo!

It's kind of amazing how ugly a fleet the following mock-up represents Throw in a bit of (clashing!) everything to satisfy all Oslo passengers' tastes?

Inspiro demonstrator isn't assigned to any particular order. When it comes to Polish delivery final arrangement of the interior hasn't been decided yet.
Personally I really like front of the car.

You mean in Warsaw?
10 units will be added to the line I rolling stock (finally 3 manufacturers will operate that line: Vagonmash, Alastom and Siemens ) and 25 units will operate the second line

So all the pictures below the text "and that for Oslo" in Petr's post are of the trains for Oslo? If they are, I'm surprised they've changed the interior and exterior so much. I thought they would keep the look very much like the look of the trains that already are in service?

The new trains for Oslo will look exactly the same as the ones we already have, as they are part of the same order... And thank god, it won't look like that god-awful Inspiro train. The only pictures that seems to be of the Oslo trains, are the ones of the steel body. this:

And this:

First delivery of this batch starts in June: http://tbanen.no/aktuelt/2012/1/23/h...er-i-2012.aspx

That's what I think as well. Still, I think it's possibly to make minor changes, but I don't think they'll do changes like that, so I guess you're right that those two images are the only ones of the Oslo trains, and that the trains mostly will look the same as the trains that already are in service.

I'm sorry I was confused too. You're right about the model for Oslo: http://www.railwaygazette.com/nc/new...etro-cars.html

On that pic there are probably 2 different trains, one for Warsaw and one for Oslo

That demonstrator isn't assigned to any particular city

But I still find Inspiro prettier than MX3000

Sounds like you're worried the general population of Groruddalen won't be able to keep those TV's unbroken.

On a serious note, I had no idea we're getting new trains. Looking forward to it!

Construction of "Lørensvingen", which will allow trains to pass directly from Sinsen to Økern, via a new station, Løren, is expected to start in May 2013, with completion in early 2017: http://tbanen.no/aktuelt/2012/3/8/lo...en-kommer.aspx

Construction work during the summer

Both the Oslo Metro (Ruter/Oslo T-banedrift) and the Norwegian National Rail Administration (Jernbaneverket) exploits the summer (and thus fewer passengers) by doing construction work on their systems.

Construction work on the metro

The upgrade of Ensjø station started Wednesday. The platform from the city centre will be upgraded first, and the whole station is believed to be upgraded in about one year from now.

Closed platforms at Ensjø station from Wednesday June 27: http://ruter.no/en/Trafficstatus/ple...te/Metro-S-12/

Construction work on the railway system

Parts of the Oslo area closed to train traffic 24 June - 5 August http://ruter.no/en/Trafficstatus/ple.../train-S-2012/
23,000 rail replacement bus journeys in Oslo this summer http://www.jernbaneverket.no/en/Star...o-this-summer/

For example, they switch the information board from 1999 at Oslo Central Station with a new one, consisting of 100 LCD screens:

K2012

In June 2011, Ruter published their "K2012 Ruter's Business Plan 2012-2060". Now an English summary is available online! http://www2.ruter.no/Documents/Rappo...12_engelsk.pdf

This plan proposes, for example, a new metro tunnel through the city centre as discussed earlier in this thread (here).

RuterReise

From January 2012, Trafikanten became a wholly-owned Ruter subsidiary and will continue its business under the Ruter name. The former Trafikanten app is now re-branded as "RuterReise" ("RuterTravel"), and here is a video demonstrating the app (in English): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTwRXPMxNFs

EDIT: Ruter has presented two alternatives on how many stations Holmenkollbanen should have in the future:

Alt. A: The same number as today, but Frøen and Steinerud are merged into one, Diakonhjemmet
Alt. B: Gaustad, Gulleråsen and Skådalen is closed down, and Frøen and Steinerud are merged into one, Diakonhjemmet.

Now it is up to the city council to decide which alternative to be realized.

More (in Norwegian) on Ruter's web page and the report on this topic is available here.
