6000 million Baht extra for the underground tunnel from Samsen to Yommarat section of red line commuter extension so as to prepare the extra space for Airport link extension

the budget for 25.9 km Airport link extension from Bangsue central to Hua Mark and Bang Sue central - Hua Lamphong is 44,157.76 million Baht
https://mgronline.com/business/detail/9600000092940

A clear point from MoF to SRT men including SRT union: If you badly want to run Red line commuter networks, then you have to accept 32 billion Baht debts - so you have to let private sector help SRTET to run red line commuter networks! After all, MoF is a creditor who have distrusted on loss ridden state enterprises so MoF have to come up with such a measure

First 'Spider' cards roll out for new ticketing system
11 Sep 2017 at 09:30 | WRITER: OM JOTIKASTHIRA

The Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP) has produced 200,000 "Mangmoom" (Spider) cards for test runs of a planned common ticketing system for public transport in Bangkok as it prepares to transfer authority of the system to the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA).

According to OTP director-general Chaiwat Tongkamkoon, the MRTA is set to oversee the common ticketing system as a result of a cabinet decision regarding how it should be managed.

The MRTA will hold a board meeting on Sept 18 to discuss a memorandum of understanding (MOU) concerning the system with the Bangkok Mass Transit System Plc (BTSC) and the Bangkok Expressway and Metro Plc (BEM).

The MOU will allow for the common ticketing system to be installed in skytrain and subway stations. The MRTA will establish a separate company to oversee all operations and maintenance of the new system.

Mr Chaiwat said all free bus and train services will end on Oct 1, as welfare cards for the poor will be available to those who register as low-income earners with the Ministry of Finance.

Card-holders will get a monthly allowance of 1,500 baht, with 500 baht each for bus, train and van fares. The fares cannot be used interchangeably.

I didn't know it worked that way. I always assumed there was just one bucket. Do other countries give monthly allowances on their mangmoom/octopus/IC cards?

Yah Kind off even though this Donmueang station at Talad Mai Donmueang area has to connect at the Southern end of Terminal 2 - hope that AOT will renovate the old Domestic terminal to become terminal 3 that connect with both red line commuter and terminal 2 though -

MRTA is working on the plan for Western extension of Orange line MRT from Thailand Cultural center to Bang Khun Nont with the distance of 16.4 km at 109,342 Million Baht to be delivered to the cabinet as PPP in the next 2 months - either 100% investment or otherwise - with a hope to open the Western extension in 2025 - 2 years after opening the eastern section in 2023

For the Southern extension of Purple line MRT from Tao Poon to Kru Nai with a price tag of 101,112 Million Baht will be on bidding by the end of 2017 - Green line Northern extension from Khoo Khot to Lam Lookka along with the Southern extension from Pak Nam to Bang Poo will be submitted to the cabinet in April 2018

For Maeng Mum card, OTP just sign the MOU with BTSC and BEM to make a settlement on revenue sharing from Maeng Mum card along with the installation of the system to read Maengmum card on Subway of BEM which is to be done in the next 12 months

However, they still cannot agree with the special discount for those who want to come to Sanam Luang to participate in the cremation of the passing His Majesty on Thursday 26 October 2017 - free ride vs 20 Baht rate ....

Phasee Charoen Boat service has become quite popular, so 4 new intermediate piers have to be added with a price tag of 7,863,000 Baht including
1. Phetkasem 41
2. Phetkasem 53
3. Suksan village
4. Ban King
However, I wish that it has been extended all the way to Wat Nong Khaem (the end of BMA before crossing to Samut Sakhon). Beyond Nong Khaem is up to the agreement with Governor of Samut Sakhon and BMA governor along with Harbor Dept and MoT to handle the intercity boat services
