Test run on Chinese made aircon buses (AKA SUNLONG SLK6129CNG) - Route 138 - Route 140 - Route 141 - Route 510 and Route 522 - 19 - 21 Jan 2017 - 1 car per route -
I DO take a ride on Route 510 and found that at least it is much better than the existing Chinese made aircon buses

All vans must have GPS installed
http://www.prachachat.net/news_detai...sid=1484739433

the high demands of Bangkokians have forced the reformed bus routes to be ballooned up from 202 routes to 269 routes - taking the Greater Bangkok van services into account - even though most of existing routes must be rerouted to function as feeders from expanding subways, Skytrain and monorails

Now, Bestrin in Hot water due to the issue on importation of SUNLONG SLK6129CNG aircon buses - Custom Dept is going to exact a fine on another 389 buses due to the falsification of custom documents that they are assembled in Malaysia but they are fully imported from mainland China

BMA Gold line - (1.8 km)

Gold line construction contract had been awarded to Italian-Thai on January 19, 2017. They are now waiting for the evaluation of the technical proposal, which will be completed at the end of this month, then the line will be given to Bangkok governor for approval to sign the construction contract to begin construction.

The first phase of the line 1.8 km is scheduled to be completed next year, 2018.

The rolling stock will be a driverless automated guideway transit (AGT) with rubber tyres to reduce noise. One car can accommodate 80-100 passengers, up to six cars can be connected.

Yellow Line extension to Ratchayothin

Can we now assume that the Yellow Line is likely to be extended to Ratchayothin? A lot of information sources on the internet have not yet been updated about this major change.

The picture in your quote shows 2 stations between Ratchada station and Phahon Yothin 24 station, however ArchStudent's updated route map in post 1872 only shows 1 station called "Chandra Kasem". Which is more likely to be correct?

I'm also wondering whether the connection should actually be at Ratchayothin station instead of at Phahon Yothin 24 station.

NOT YET, This is due to the fact that BTSC has another idea - connecting Yellow Line monorail with BTSC at Phahonyothin Soi 24 near Satree Woranat girl school as BTSC has hoarded the land around that area - This can cause the dilemma for sure.

However, MRTA said BTSC has to conduct EIA for the extension of Yellow Line Monorail and Pink Monorail on their own -

So no closing of the BRT line, or only a postponement of its termination?

I was talking about the drivers, not the corporation that owns the vehicles.

Something wrong with the maths: "55 Minibuses of 30 seats on the first 12-13 intercity bus routes will be ready in July 2017
For instance Ayuthaya route: 10 buses to replace 190 - 200 vans"

The current vans have up to 12 seats. Assuming an average of 10 passengers per van, then 200 vans would be currently be transporting 2000 passengers/day. Therefore, surely 67 x 30 seat buses would be needed to replace 200 buses!

they will be forced by the company to learn how to drive minibuses and get the new driver licenses which have become harder as they have to give the correct answer to all the questions while they will have to learn how to drive minibuses. Otherwise, they will become unemployed.

Well, the distribution of the first 55 new mini buses with a total price tag of 126.5 million Baht (2.2-2.3 million Baht) will be as follows according to the latest news I got today:
1. BKK - Ayutthaya - 6buses to replace some of 190 - 200 vans which has reached 12 year expiration
2. BKK - Saraburi - 6 buses to replace some of 190 - 200 vans which has reached 12 year expiration
3. BKK - Suphanburi - 5 buses
4. BKK - Tha Luang - Lam Narai - 2 buses
5. BKK - Klaeng - Chanthaburi - 4 buses
6. BKK - Rayong - Ban Phe (Dropping point for Samet Island) - 6 buses
7. BKK - Pataya - 5 buses
7. BKK - Trat - 2 buses
8. BKK - Watthana Nakhon - Rong Kluea Market (near Klong Luek checkpoint) - 2 buses
9. BKK - Nakhon Sawan - 4 buses
10. BKK - Pak Chong - 5 buses
11. BKK - Hua Hin - 2 buses
12. BKK - Pranburi - Prachuab Khirikhan - 4 buses

It is a rule of Thai journalists to give a quick and sketchy information with much less details before delivering more details.
