Very nice tour ! A city I `ve nerver been too . I used to live for almost ten years in Heidelberg (mostly in the 90s ) a much bigger city than Rothenburg and even more touristified in some spots: Old bridge, castle and last third of Old town . But its no problem to live there and after a year you will not recognize the tourists.
There are tons of towns I know in Germany wonderful medieval and cosy looking and not touristified because not discovered by the international touristic- industrie.
Near Heidelberg e.g. is the wonderful town of Ladenburg , nobody outside the Heidelberg area
ever heard. Or my hometown were I grew up for 22 years is Bad (spa) Hersfeld and Rothenburg an der Fulda (same county ) in northern part of Hessen state are only 120 km north of Frankfurt /Main. Cosy streets , half-timbered madness and cosy coffee-bars and pubs in both cities and no international tourism.

Rothenburg is a nice place to go to; tourists are often crowded at nice sights. It is the way it is.

@Frank Hannover
Dinkelsbühl in die nähe von Rothenburg und Bad Wimpfen in die nähe von Heidelberg und Tübingen in die nähe von Stuttgart hat fast ein genauso malerisches Stadtbild und die sind alle weniger überlaufen.
