This airport is named after the city of Gafsa and the municipality of Ksar in which it is located. It lays 3 km north east the city of Gafsa and entered active service in 1999. It serves the central west region of Tunsia and has an area of 2 500 m².

Tunisair is the flag carrier airline of Tunisia. It operates scheduled international services to European, European, African and Middle Eastern destinations and is planning to open new routes to North America. Its main base is Tunis-Carthage International Airport.

In 1948, the Tunisian government reached an agreement with Air France and Tunisair was created. It started operation in 1949. By 1957, the number of shares held by Air France were decreased and the Tunisian government became the largest shareholder in Tunisair. It holds 51% of Mauritania Airways (founded on december, the 18th, 2006).

Tunisair serves more than 49 destinations with regularly scheduled flights and 80 destinations with charter flight services. There is also a possibility that the airline will begin services to Montreal, Canada.

On 29 April 2008, Airbus announced that Tunisair placed a firm order for 10 A320(with 3 options), 3 A330 and 3 A350XWB (with 1 option) aircraft for fleet renewal and expansion in a deal valued at $1.6 billion.

Nouvelair is an airline based in Monastir in Tunisia. It operates tourist charters from European cities to Tunisian holiday resorts. Its main base is Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport, and its Focus cities are Tunis-Carthage International Airport and Djerba-Zarzis International Airport.

The airline was established in 1989 as Air Liberté Tunisie and started operations on 21 March 1990. It was founded as a charter affiliate of French operator Air Liberté. It is majority owned by Aziz Milad and has 614 employees (at March 2007).

Nouvelair serves more than 120 airports within 30 countries mainly in Europe.

Sevenair, formerly known as Tuninter (Arabic: الخطوط الدولية‎) is an airline based in Tunisia and operates internal and short-distance international flights. It is a subsidiary of Tunisair Group.

Created in 1991, it starts with destinations within Tunisia and in 2000, it begins operating flights to international airports in southern Italy, Malta and Libya. It is currently developing charter flights for destinations in France, south Italy, Algeria, malta and Libya.

Sevenair has 10 destinations within 4 countries (including Tunisia).

TAV Airports Holding, the leading airports operator in Turkey, will lay the foundation for the Tunisian Enfidha International Airport on July 24.

TAV Airports Holding, the leading airports operator in Turkey, will lay the foundation for the Tunisian Enfidha International Airport on July 24. TAV will operate the airport for 40 years and anticipates as much as EUR 400 mln in investment within the next two years.

President of the Tunisian Republic Zine El Abidine Ben Ali will also participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of the airport in Enfidha, a tourist spot for Tunisia.

In a press release published by TAV, it was noted that the company has become a global name because of its international successes and ambitious projects. Now the company will carry its experience in the sector to North Africa. The release also stated the company plans to start operating the Enfidha airport in 2009.

The CEO and executive board chairman of TAV, emphasized that the preferential agreement signed with Tunisian government on May 18, 2007 granted them the right to operate both the Monastir and Enfidha international airports, adding: These two airports both have large capacities. As TAV Holding, our goal is to make the Enfidha airport the regional centre in Africa. With the help of this project we will establish stronger commercial relations with Tunisia, a formerly friendly country to Turkey also underlined that the four-stage operation to be executed during management of the airport will provide for a capacity of 22 million passengers. The airport will be built on 4300 hectares of land. In the first phase the terminal building will be 90000 square meters. He also noted that a new terminal building will be built at the Enfidha International Airport and it will incorporate an open parking lot, a runway, a jet way and new service premises with taxi lanes.

Karthago Airlines is an airline based in Tunis, Tunisia. It is a privately owned charter airline operating services between Tunisia and Europe. Its main base is Djerba-Zarzis Airport, with hubs at Tunis-Carthage International Airport and Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport.

The airline was established in 2001 and is owned by the Karthago Group (58%) and banks, insurers and tour trade investors (42%). Its first flight took place on Mars the 22nd, 2002. Karthago Airlines has 20% of tunisian aviation market, which it shares with Nouvelair (32%) and Tunisair (48%).

The airline uses Travel Technology Interactive's airline management system, Aeropack.

In mars the 13th 2007, Karthago Airlines founded Koral Blue, a subsidiary airline company that operates service between Charm el-Cheikh, Egypt and Europe.
