Esta obra está a ser edificada por um consórcio português, que verdade seja dita, executam muito melhor que as empresas chinesas que se instalaram em Angola. Desta vez acertaram em cheio na escolha das empresas.

here how it will look like

What’s happening to ‘The Marginal’? The downtown main street that runs along the bay has always been the favourite destination for families on a Sunday stroll or joggers exercising while watching the sun set. Now piles of dredged sand and wire fences have taken over Luanda’s favourite promenade.
The Angola Field Group invites you to a presentation on The Development of Luanda’s Bay, at the Viking Club on August 25 at 8:00 PM with Kwame Gomes, a Project Manager with Baía de Luanda Project, “Projecto de Requalificação e Reordenamento Urbano da Zona Marginal”.
He will talk about the evolution of the project, the dredging, the sewage system, and the new squares and green spaces which will be developed. Kwame, who received his MSc. in Management at Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2007, will answer all your questions about the future of the Marginal and Luanda’s waterfront.

I hope this will be an inspiration to other African nations which dont utilise their coastlines.

This is amazing, I wish our leaders would be wise enough to use our resources (Gold, gas, wild animals, kilimanjaro, coastline, Uraniam, iron etc) fully like what you guys do.

, these guys over here(Angola) they are doing something nobody denies that. However, they could do better than this. We still hope they are moving in the direction of better. Africa needs to send a lot of students to study how economies develop from theory and practice(Korea, Singapore, Japan, China mailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, even Dubai). See what it takes for the Germans to continue suppliying high-end vehicles to the world. What it takes for Korea a very small country without a reserve of steel greater than many countries in Africa, including Angola, yet produces most commercial ships. Africa needs to stop and think ahead. See the current development paradigmes and try to be ahead of the curve. It is difficult, but doable.

Oh gosh...and I thought I was critical...we are well aware of its problems but Luanda - as oppossed to several other African cities - is moving ahead speedily and building nice structures. The city looked so shattered and woefully run down just a couple of years back. This is one of it and it gets built which is a miracle for itself if you are aware of the the rest of the continent and its post-indepenendt "achievements".

Let´s just be happy for this piece here and don´t bury our head in the sand, knowing the herculean task that is still ahead.

Doesn´t the Economist or your beloved BBC World News have a critical article that you could post..I thought truly critcal people like you read and cherish those well respected media outlets for their "extensive" and truly "investigative" news coverage, popi?!

I wonder why those media never show this side of Africa - if they pride themselves in being "extensive"...but never mind, they are critical, right?!
Hence, keep showing the bombed out towns, the war-lords, naked kids roaming the city slums...and hey there is another African failed state in the making - Libya, which have generously been bombed back - with the noble motive of implanting the seeds of democracy, propsperity and freedom in that "impoverished, rotten and bankrupt country" - to only God knows what!
