I am extremely upset that I discovered this thread so late, but also very proud to see my hometown here

It is a great place to grow up and I am glad that y'all here are giving it some love. By the way, Kalamata is the 9th largest city in Greece and should have over 60,000 residents today. Not large for international standards, but far from being a village... If the 1986 earthquake had not nearly destroyed the city - the population was reduced to about 15,000 residents - I can't tell how large it would be these days, considering the growth rate prior to the earthquake.

Fantastic sunny weather+nice and cosy town=great place to live! Really like the light colours of Kalamata's buildings - it definitely gives some "paradise feeling".

¿Do you have pictures of the Laconia area in southern Peloponnese, and the area where Sparta was located?

I am very interested to see shots of the region where the best soldiers of the ancient world lived.

I also would like to see photos of the place where the the 300 Spartans under King Leonidas and 700 Thespians fought the Persians under Xerxes, put some pictures of the Thermopylae Pass in the Gulf of Maliakós.
