The words "city" and "town" should be used consistently in SSC. Some people like to upgrade their home town, calling it a city.
For me Kalamata is just a town, not a city. Greece has only 2 cities, i.e. Athens and Salonika.

what about patras?
metro area has over 300.000 well kalamata aint huge i guess we can call it a big town or small city but other cities over 150.000 such as iraklio larissa volos are for sure cities we can call em little cities but they are

 From the (internet/flickr etc) photos of Alexandria and from Cairo districts, i should say that both cities with Kalamata, have only few similaritiers

Thanks for your extensive Kalamata thread. I think my girlfriend was there several years ago with her school class.
It looks nice, but I'm surprised the streets look so empty, was it early in the morning?
