You have no reason to lower yourself under him. Loosing control, insulting, kicking is showing obviously that you are a weak person. We know this in Belgium between Flemish speaking and french speaking. It its the same in Latvia with Russian speaking people. We live together! It is our heritage, we like it or not, and we live with it! This library is a symbol of Latvian culture, even if maybe it looks like Soviet heritage at first sight, it is not. I agree we can feel maybe some DNA of former occupation, it can be also understandable, Latvians have been influenced by Russia far before the Soviet occupation too... Thank you for the story about the glass castle and the princess. With this regard, this monument completely changes my mind and viewpoint about this building. I could see a big sticker of a princess on the building somewhere on top, 10-20 meters high, a bit like the small prince of St-Exupery...  Inspiring!Beautiful picture at dawn Vecais Sarkanis!
