This is the project approved for the new stadium in Cluj. The work should begin this year, and should be completed in 2010.

its not a stadium for a big club as i understand.
There are 2 1st league clubs in Cluj (i have to say that i have never heard this city before).

But before they do anything about their stadium (which is not even theirs, it belongs to the Ministry of Interior), I think they will play where it's cheaper.

seems romania is joining most of eastern europe in having some mass stadium work. What is going on at the moment i know of CFR Cluj and the national stadium but are ther any other stadium improvements that are going on at the moment in Romania ?

According to Wikipedia,

In May 2008, Rapid Bucharest officially announced plans to demolish the current stadium, and replace it with a brand new state-of-the-art multi-purpose stadium. The new arena will hold 30.000 fans and will offer all facilities of a world class stadium. If no delays occur, construction is scheduled to begin in Autumn 2008, and the first match of the new stadium will be played in 2010. Meanwhile, for the next two seasons, Rapid Bucharest will most likely play its home games on Cotroceni Stadium.

Brasov it's building a new 23000 capacity stadium.

U Cluj is building a 30000 capacity stadium. There are 2 projects but it seems that the first one has won.

Thank you for the pictures. Can I ask you of more renderings if you have? And as for Brasov stadium, what club will use it when it's completed? According to Wikipedia, Brasov has two football clubs now - FC Brasov(in 1st division) and FC Forex Brasov(in 2nd division). Will the stadium be used by both of them or one of them? And what's the rough timeline for construction? Thanks in advance.

nice designs great to see yet another league joining the modern 21st century of football it all bodes well for the sport.
I just have a few questions.
Firstly will the CFR Cluj stadium be built 1 stand at a time and how much will be done by the time the champions league starts ?
And Secondly do Steaua have any stadium projects? as one of Romanias richest clubs both in terms of wealth and tradition it would be great to see them in a high quality stadium of say 35-45,000.

Lately there have been talks for increasing the capacity to either 45,000 or 60,000 with the company that, among others, has worked on building stadia such as Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt and renovating ones as Olympiastadion in Berlin. (february)
...but in the last months nothing new appeared regarding to the stadium.

From what I know they want to close the stadium and make a mini 4th stand of 2000 places.

Anyway the scale model is a bit different from the reality (the pillars that support the roof does't exist in the scale model)
