Hi Sunil, Your posts are very informative but I think it will be more appropriate for a blog site since your posts contain too much details. I have seen blogs by our members Ajay, Scorpio ... you may ask them about how to post those.

In this thread, you may give 4-5 lines of concise message and then you could provide a link to your blog for detais. That will help us to understand
your message better. Thanks.

What ever; the TDF is a very active group, which had discussed lots and lots of issues and which had came out with a number of practical solutions.

What Ajay had mentioned is one of the "products" of TDF. Please click the link (vide Ajay's postin g) to see the efforts & pains of the members of TDF.

What you mentioned being inactive for weeks could be on account of dearth of mails. I feel there is not much point in being 'Arm chair activists'. That is lecturing thorugh internet within the cozy confines of one's office or home, thousands of kilometres away.

What I know so far is that TDF has very good and active office bearers, who are residents of the city, and are able to reach out to the decision makers/Corridors of power, by giving their best efforts.

The moderators do not grant membership right away.
Usually it shall be made only after ascertaining the credibility, reliability & genuinity of the applicant. May be your name has to be recommended by some responsible TDF members.

In the mean time, please click the 'trivandrumdevelopmentfront' link in Ajay's posting and see what had happpened in the past, what is happening currently and what would be the furutre plan of action.

Good Luck.

Cheers

Hey Guys, Is TDF a registered company. We can probably attempt to submit the company Profile to famous technology blog like crunchbase (division of Techcrunch).?

No. Not, as of now.

But I wish, TDF should act as the Promoter of an Infrastructure & Facilities Development Company for Trivandrum. This item was discussed elsewhere several times before. (Sanjay, if you are more interested in this regard, please PM me).

Cheers

BRTS

The details of the City Mobility Plan for TVM can is http://ksudp.org/PDF/CITY_MOBILITY_PLAN_TVM_2007.pdf. I found it pretty underwhelming. For one, the BRTS does not touch places like Medical College, Vellayambalam, Vazhuthacaud, General Hospital etc. I do not like the main corridor either (Ulloor - Karamana and later Kazhakoottam - Uloor - Karamana - Balaramapuram). The CDP seems to be too aware of City boundaries and TRIDA boundaries rather than the actual transit points people use, and the UA as a whole.

Transforming TDF into a company will divert the activities of the group from a thinktank to a commercial company.Ideally the TDF should become a freestanding facilitator for identifying the areas of development including commercial ones and escorting it to the logical conclusion. In reality TDF can become a strong caucus for development of Trivandrum.

Ajay,
Why dont we organise an event in this forum to generate a Grand plan for the city vision. We can link it to the GD thread to let the other image oriented thread to be free. We have planners in our city who are trying to do a good job with available resources.Let us set free a thought process that will bring out the creative best of all the forumers from our city to become a part of the building of a City of Tomorrow .Forummers who are experts in graphics can provide a visual rendering of the plan of a future city based on the present layouts and without loosing the heritage values.Let the voices of the masses with knowledge be heard.

- That's a good idea, Sunil. We have a lot of ideas and skill sets her which we can put to good use in an endeavor like that. However, I do not think this is the right forum for that. Tribiz.in will soon have its own forum which will be provide a more focused and private venue for such a discussion.

TRIDA is holding a seminar on Jan 28 and 29 to which TDF is an invitee where the future needs of the city and the consequent masterplan will be discussed in detail. Maybe we can put in our inputs there.

Techcrunch and crunchbase are kind of authorities in technology blogging. It is a good place to showcase to VCs and angels especially from Silicon Valley.
I was trying to see a full fledged website for Trivandrum (Kochi Airport has a good one). Are you guys aware of any good websites for tvm ?

Lets not waste time in taking our initiatives to the logical conclusion. Please take some effort to get the VISION TRIVANDRUM exercise going .We may not have any substantiative plans before the TRIDA seminar, but we may be able to give a broad plan during the same outlining the city develoment projects that will look into the future requirements of the citizenary.

THe Cochin Airport website was good earlier , but not now. Some cities and airports promote their own site to generate interest among investors (SFO airport). So I was looking something similar
