Sudden Trip

I am making a last minute trip to complete some personal/official activities.I will be happy to fly on SFO-Dubai Non-stop airline . The sad part is I could not get confirmed ticket on the Dubai-TVM sector either direction.
Even the Singapore-Silk air flights to TVM are full far in advance. So we should be really having hell lot of traffic to TVM Sector. I hear the same stories of not getting the ticket ont he TVM sector from different people
May be the airlines should seriously start thinking about increasing the Singapore-TVM capacity.

- Sanjay, it was estimated in 2007 that at least 150,000 people had to take flights from elsewhere because flights from Trivandrum were packed. And I guess there is a similar number for incoming flights.

And this is when airlines run lightly loaded flights from other airports. Either they are horrifically blind to this or there are vested interests at work. One common excuse has been that TIA is already stretched to the limit. The commissioning of Terminal 3 should demolish that by mid-2009, and then maybe we will see new airlines and services starting up.

As for the portal, there is nothing comprehensive as of now. Hopefully, something will come up soon.

It used to be jam-packed whenever I took silk flights to TVM and I normally had to book tickets far in advance to get a seat. There certainly are vested interests at work against TIA; hope things will have a turn around with the new TIA terminals.

Here is the attitude of HC...

Bench details unavailable: High Court

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala High Court, apparently, has no details with it concerning the High Court Bench that formerly functioned in Thiruvananthapuram.

In reply to the queries submitted under the Right to Information Act by the Thiruvananthapuram Bar Association managing committee member Adv Renjith C.Nair, the Public Information Office of the High Court has replied: "Details as to the functioning of the Bench of the High Court at Thiruvananthapuram is not available with this office".

Renjith had, in fact, appended a list of 30 cases dated after November 1, 1956, with his request, seeking confirmation whether these cases were tried at the Thiruvananthapuram Bench. To this also, the reply is in the negative.

The query on whether there was any written order to stop the Thiruvananthapuram Bench also got a reply in the same vein.

The Public Information Office also claims to have no information regarding the opinion of the HC Chief Justice on the establishment of the Bench in Thiruvananthapuram. The request for a copy of the Chief Justice’s reply to the Union Law Ministry also met with the reply "information sought for is not available with the Registry."

However Renjith said he had planned to file an appeal.

That is good to hear.If the prices are holding steady, that is good for the market in the short term.I understand that the current real estate projects are progressing but what about the new launches? Is there sustained demand? The situation in Hyderabad,Chennai and Bangalore are not encouraging at all.

One cannot compare TVM prices with Metros ... prices in TVM are still in the 2000-3000/sqft compared to metros where the prices are more than 5000/sqft.
High prices in metros is becoming unaffordable to the so called upper middle classes due to the econonic downturn.
But I guess TVM can sustain it for a long time.

All this is bull shit, both sides..BTW you cannot call everybody anti socials.

Funny to hear that you need to have permission for a party of over 25 after 8PM. Great way to go Trivandrum.

I was amused to hear the comments of some frustrated nadan goons commenting that CCD is a haven of drug peddlers. At least we had one CCD (compared with other cities where you have one every corner, I think in BLR there are more than 50) which everybody will be trying to close down.

BTW guys, do give a short description in English for the news items you are posting in Malayalam.

Sudheesh ,

They are not anti socials ......They are a bunch of silver spoonies merely trying to show off.....I know many of those goodies (one is the son of a famous gold merchant & another is the son of a specialist doctor) nd even they have made a club(unofficial) by the name "dare devils" .I wont say all are show buzzies .....some are really mad abt bikes nd racing ......No body is against their crazy hobbies unless they pose danger to the poor pedestrians on the foot path.

Atlast some action.... will it suffice or is it cosmetic?

The bottom line is lack of professionalism among law enforcement officials. Hope things will improve as the city grows both commercially and intellectually.
