N230 Expressway, Utrecht, the Netherlands

A drive on the north beltway of Utrecht. This is partially an expressway.

A28 motorway Utrecht - Amersfoort, the Netherlands

A drive on the east/northbound A28. It still has the original concrete pavement. This is one of the most congested freeways in the Netherlands. (AADT: 100.000 on 2x2 lanes).

On German holidays, truck traffic is not allowed, so the border is virtually closed for trucks entering Germany from neighboring countries (except perishable goods). The result is that the border crossing parking is quickly full, and trucks start to line up on the shoulder. In the Netherlands, this line can reach 16 kilometers (10 miles) on the A1 motorway. All parking areas are filled to capacity, up to 80 kilometers from the border and trucks start to line up on the shoulder there too.

I made a video of this situation about 17 months ago, May 2007. We were there around noon, and the line was about 4 kilometers long, but it reached 16 kilometers that evening.

A28 motorway Zwolle - Amersfoort (the Netherlands)

A fastforward drive on 60 kilometers on the southwestbound A28 motorway. You can see the entire 60 kilometers in just 7,5 minutes.

note: high quality is a must

A1 Amersfoort - Apeldoorn (the Netherlands)

Another fastforward drive, this time on the A1 motorway in central Netherlands, from interchange Hoevelaken to Interchange Beekbergen, a distance of 43 kilometers in just 6 minutes.

This means the A1 east of Amersfoort (120km) is now 100% covered by my videos. The ultimate goal would be to record every motorway in the Netherlands.

A50 motorway Apeldoorn - Zwolle

A drive on the northbound A50 motorway from interchange Beekbergen to interchange Hattemerbroek, a distance of 35 kilometers. This road connects the two larger cities of Apeldoorn and Zwolle and passes through the Veluwe natural region.

A37 motorway Hoogeveen - Meppen

A drive on the eastbound A37 motorway, a newer and very quiet motorway in northeastern Netherlands. It runs from interchange Hoogeveen to the interchange with the German A31 near Meppen, 50 kilometers are in between. You can see that in 6 minutes.

A31 Autobahn Meppen - Leer

A drive on the A31 Autobahn in northwestern Germany. From Exit Meppen with the B402 to Interchange Dreieck Bunde with the A280, a distance of 50 kilometers. This is a road that's known for speeding, though there was little traffic this day.

A drive in the extreme Northeastern Netherlands, from Dreieck Bunde in Germany onto the A280 which continues as A7 in the Netherlands to the city of Groningen, a distance of 55 kilometers.

My latest motorway videos are speeded up 4 times, while that Ring Zwolle video was speeded up 2 times.

A12 motorway, Utrecht - Arnhem, the Netherlands

A drive on the Eastbound A12 motorway from Interchange Lunetten to Interchange Waterberg, a distance of 55 kilometer. Recorded on a saturday, but this road becomes terribly jammed during workdays, because it carries over 90,000 vehicles/day on only 2x2 lanes. On threequarters of the video, some idiots were waving through traffic and slowed down to 30 km/h on the left lane
There's also some snow visible, the further east, the more snow
