Wouldn't it be easier to have the tower stand still and the city rotate around it? In Dubai they must have envisioned something like that.

this building is awesome wit all of the twists in it. I'm sure it was difficult to construct.

No, Dubai is going to realign the tilt of the Earth's Axis and put itself in a more temperate latitude. Unfortunately this means Moscow will end up at the literal North Pole and will have to replace its tap water with vodka.......not that anyone will notice.

Thank you.

Exactly why this, and the Dynamic Tower in Dubai, will be an eyesore on the Moskva skyline.

actually, theyre gonna stop the earth, and instead use a tractor beam put the sun into orbit around dubai, like it was originally meant to be.

The Muscovite are tough and won't care... but don't you worry about your fellows Californians being brought close to the equator?? How will they live with the monsoons? Lots of windsurfing but no more bikinis! The holiday season completely messed up! They might not survive the shock.

Such a drastic change since 1988. No one would have expected this. But Russia needs to diversy from just natural gas and oil and needs to become an a full member of the global community, and not be seen with such disdain as many in America and the West do.

I don't see what's so wrong with his statement. Russia's pretense at calling itself a 'democracy' is laughable. It's run by a group of power-hungry tyrants who deeply miss the days when they they could simply shoot someone if they said something they didn't like, and are trying to get it back to those days as quickly as possible. I think many do view them with disdain.

Georgia, anyone?

It looks okay. It doesn't exude "RUSSIAN" to me though.

I like this incredible tower more than Dubai analogue.

Do you think that USA, UK, Italy or spain are democracies? Because that way more laughable

I think Russia is one of the few countries (or maybe the only one) that can call themselves a democracy.

ONTOPIC: Is this builing going to have a parking lot inside the aparments?

Does anyone know if they went ahead with this? Is it being built? All I can tell from their website is that construction was supposed to start at the end of 2008 and the tower should have been operational in 2010...I can't find any further information.

Considering the developer (MIRAX) is bankrupt and considering that there are a dozen other major projects on hold and they haven't really even started on this one, I'd say the chances of it actually being built are fairly slim. Certainly not before 2015 or so.
