this is no suburb. this is sort of a suburban downtown, built in an urban fashion. it has 2 subway lines, and dozens of highrises.

it's actually on track to be quite green. The architect designed two slither of grass. Rather awkward to have blue grass.

It's a carbon copy of the one in Astana, so it will most likely have green glass too.

NYCC was a former suburb. Mississauga has always been a city in its own right (although it used to be centred around Port Credit and Streetsville.

Forgive my ignorance, but why do they always build twin apartment towers in TO? Is it cheaper or are they just too lazy to come up with a new design for the second tower? I've been through that area many times and it's something I noticed.

It's cheaper to build a clone right next door (preferably at the same time) than use a new design. I'm no fan of twins, triples, etc. but as long as there's a cost benefit to build them, we'll continue to see them. You'll see a ton of them in Calgary too.

That's what I thought. I don't mind one or two twins, but when there's a whole bunch it just looks boring. If they would at least make one tower taller than the other.

I agree with you. Emerald Park will be of varying heights, so that's a relief.

August 9th by someMidTowner. Podium is complete - work starts on the tiny footprint of these slender towers.

This is probably one of the only times where I want the cladding to be green. But a real green, not dull turqoise.
