actually they want to say
but it isn't clear if they would get a permission
its a historical side
so the stadium has to be very "pure" and the current stadium was built in 1947
its not clear if they can demolish it

the 2002 project
at this time only the old "towers" has to stay
capacity was 35.000
the same architects as for the current stadium
as you can see the old "towers" stayed

I have never heard this Beşiktaş stadium. As I know they don't have any plan for building a new stadium...

yes
the capacity was around 21.000 3 years ago
http://www.fussballtempel.net/uefa/TUR/Inonu_alt.html

than they lower the pitch and extended the 1st tier and the capacity rised to 32.145
http://www.fussballtempel.net/uefa/TUR/Inonu.html

But the record attendace of the was before the expansion
42.946
Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe (2:1)
06.06.1969

But its an old stadium
no restaurants, cafes, boxes etc
but ^ means money

looks like the area is too small for an 50.000 seater
and i don't think you can't built a very steep stand (too high-> affect the historical view)

this was a 45.000 seater stadium
as you can see the bosphorus stand was like the other stand behind the goal

Money, getting permission and free lands are the main problems

asaparagas news...

Don't believe anything like this... If Beşiktaş wantys to stay at Dolmabahçe they can't touch this stadium.

If this news is serious, it is just a policy to force the state to show a plot for a new stadium... I can even learn the truth even today...

exactly what i think
they say memorial committee won't say something etc
But i do not believe it
a new stadium (+50.000) in a new area would be better
But waht will happend to the old stadium?
it would be perfect if they would blow up the Süper Plaza Tower behind the stadium
the tower should fall at the stadium

and the area should be the expansion of the Maçka park

Fantastic news. That will surely make me visit Istanbul in the next few years! (as if Saracoglu and Aslantepe didn't ). Keep us updated (I know you will, just feel excited about this more than as if it was in Poland...)
Personally- what chances do you see for the stadium to be built this time?

As i maybe already mentioned i never really believed in it, because its a histirocal site. Memorial committee would not give a permission. And they had the problem with the old ottoman gate which is integrated into the old "Bosphorus" stand.
The government announced that they want to built new stadiums out of the city centre in nearly every big turkish city. But Besiktas's one will be located at the same place, therefore i do not believed it.
BUT the turkish Football Federation's plan was to built a new one at the same place. It should became the new national stadium of the national team.

According to news it will paid by the state, sponsors and Besiktas.
So, the stadium will be built 40m more in the north
The old "Bosphorus" stand with its gate will stay as a amphitheater

Besiktas plans to start with the conctruction on May 19th (youth and sports day in Turkey)

I am a lil bit confused about the capacity. First they said 45.000-50.000. Yesterday evening NTV said 45.000, but today Fanatik says 42.000. According to Fanatik its a english design group

BTW: Diyarbakir major said to a newspaper, that they plan to built a new 30.000 seater stadium for Diyarbakirspor (IMO it will have a track).

Mersin plans also a new +30.000 stadium, because they want to bid for the Mediterranean games

Istanbul chamber of architects are against the new Besiktas stadium, because according to them the current stadium should be kept "alive". Its a architectural heritage

But ironically, if it is kept in the current form- it makes the club's further development virtually impossible. Therefore it doesn't actually fully serve the club, thus not assuring it's primary function. I think respect for history is one thing, but the reality of new sports arenas is different.

A bit philosophic, but I hope you understand...

As an example I may give the new Legia Warszawa stadium- the facade of one stand is of high historical value and so it will be incorporated into the new design. I think the proposed vision of the Inonu gateway remaining as an amphitheatre is fine- both original and allowing the stadium to reach a new level.

exactly, what will happen to the current stadium if BJK decides to built a new stadium in another area?

First they said that only the historical gate should stay (like it stayed at the asp proposal), but ~2 years ago the chamber said that the whole stadium should stay
But i really can understand the chamber, this is a very historical part and a big stadium would destroy the old view

Now Diyarbakir and Mersin - stadium projects are flying around in Turkey at the moment!

I have mixed feelings about the BJK proposal though. Perhaps it would be best for the club if they moved elsewhere...42k won't be too expandable in the future either, I presume?

We'll see what comes up on Sunday.

The theatre?

the spaceshipt in the nort is maybe the parking area

spectacular design
Inside is the same than Lille (again )

Is it really red lightened??

The overall feeling is "Fenerbahce stadium"

Yes, its a lil bit like lille, but lille has got more rows. especially the "2nd" tier is at lille a club seats level and vip level, but i just saw it here, that it has got only 5 rows. so its more just a vip balcony

They said it will have a retraceble roof, but no pic with closed roof
As i said, an expansion can be onyld one by taking the streets underground
http://aycu27.webshots.com/image/449...6565855_rs.jpg

Why FB stadium? FB stadium is IMo diffent. it has got tower at the corners and the 2nd tier at the endzone stands is different (rows, height, steepness) than the other 2 one.
