Do passengers need to buy separate CRH tickets or use their metro smart card on this line?

Both are accepted. The train is CRH but the operation model follows Shanghai metro way.

It has long been possible to take CRH inside Shanghai. The stations of Shanghai West, Nanxiang North and Anting North are inside Shanghai.

While Jinshan is 56 km from Shanghai South, Kunshan South is 50 km from Shanghai.

Kunshan is in Suzhou, not Shanghai. Yet Kunshan is the richest city in China - far richer than Shanghai.

What should be done to improve rail services between Shanghai, Kunshan and suburbs of both in between such as Anting or Huaqiao?

Weren't there rumors of either extending line 11 into Suzhou or a commuter line from Shanghai West?

Line 11 extension Anting-Huaqiao is under construction. When is it due to open?

I was just talking about railway stations served by more than 2 subway lines, meaning at least 3, of which Russia has just one (Kievsky vokzal). I think the largest concentrations are in London, Paris and Tokyo.

Ok, I know that, but my example was a bit different - 3 railways instead of one.

How are all the railway stations in Shanghai connected? Does the Shanghai Railway Station have trains going through Hongqiao to Nanjing? I'm also not sure how Shanghai West Railway station connects to other stations/cities.

I'd love to see video for this new Jinshan commuter rail line and hope to ride it one day. I'm all for faster commute times. At 100mph, that's faster than anyone can really drive to work legally.

Shanghai West is connected to Shanghai station and is between Shanghai and Kunshan South. But only five daily outbound trains stop at Shanghai West.

At the moment there are only 15 trains per direction per day. Come 28th October that number will increase to 36.

I see, so Shanghai West probably gets bypassed a lot.

I read that there will be non-stop trains between Jinshanwei and Shanghai South, how long are the non-stop trips supposed to take? I thought that the train will stop at all 9 stations. Good to see that there will be some express trains. This is probably the shortest CRH line on the entire CRH network.

There is a non-stop express and a local train. apparently the advertised time it takes to do an express run is ~30 mins

That sounds about right given the speed. I think the use of CRH2 is just a stop gap measure until CRH6 can enter serial production, after all CRH6 is just CRH2 in a different shell.
