But as I can see, it is not its last extension? There will be an extension to Disneyland, too, right?

By the way, all of them are different in design.

I wonder why didn't they go with full height PSDs, I can't imagine it being tunnel pressure venting issue because it can be solved easily without any engineering modification to the station ventilation system. Nanjing Metro line 1 did the same thing, and all they did was having grating above the glass so the tracks are not airtight.

Personally, I don't like full PSD. Trains in most cities of China are very beautiful, and with PSD you can't admire them to the full extent. I'm not even talking about taking pictures.

Whole new regional express metro line. I wonder if they are going to use using A size trains and through-operate with line 11. Now that would be cool.

some facts:
  • Line 11 north extension: 3 stations (Zhaofeng Rd, Guangming Rd, Huaqiao), 6 km, all elevated, all in Jiangsu Province
  • Shanghai metro extends into Suzhou for the first time.
  • With the opening Line 11 will be the longest metro line of Shanghai, 72 km
What was the trip time and ticket price for line 11 full trip, Huaqiao to the end?
Is 72 km the actual end to end distance without including branches?

Thanks! Actually this is right the same but now contains doors.

I like it.

At some stations these structures have got signaling orange lights that look wonderful.

Interesting, they pretty much just bolted the sliding mechanism on the old glass barriers. That's the most primitive half height PSD I've seen, but I guess if it works and saves a lot of money then it's okay.

In terms of the number of metro stations would the system be the largest in the world?

Probably not New York has over 500 while shanghai has only ~300. Yet for shanghai's number transfers are double counted.

No. Distances between stations in Shanghai are quite large. Much larger than those in Europe or Japan.
