WHO OR WHAT IS TEAM METRO ?

I heard that it was an agency set up post- Hurricane Andrew. This Forum that I read about it on were very negative saying it was to oppressive and that heavy fines were given to homeownners for not meeting codes. I am not to clear on what it is all is about and wanted to know more about it on this forum.

Team Metro is a department of Miami-Dade County that is basically the citizens outreach arm of the county. One of the things they handle is code enforcement. They only do code enforcement in Unincorporated Miami-Dade County so if you live in a municipality (Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables...etc) you would have your own city doing the code enforcement, some of which are more strict than the county (such as Coral Gables) and some of which are less strict than the count (such as the city of Miami).

Thank you Dave for the information.

http://www.miamidade.gov/teametro/

I've always thought of them as one stop satellite offices for county government. Very convenient.
