No... this can't be true!! I am really suprised by this revelation (especially after a lot of photos and videos).
Personally, my favorite is Citadis 302 running in the T7.

I don't know, I can just say that this is pretty crowded.

I can testify to that...

Does anyone know what the best tram frequency can be? 6 minutes on the T3 at rush hour is nowhere near enough...

This is not a BRT but an usual bus lane, infact this is the oldest bus lane in Paris.
It opened in January 15, 1964.
The design is different that what it used to be almost 50 years ago. It was narrower with simple yellow lines.
I believe that the current marking at intersections is to prevent the cars to stop here during congestion.

(The account of jhm0284 is very interesting, there are plenty of old pictures of Paris transports and other in Europe).

Same place at the end of November 2013 (same line 21 as well)

Some news:
The Tram Porte de Choisy-Orly will be named T9 and the tram Antony - Clamart will be called T10.
I don't know yet where to put the Tram-train Tangentielle lines (this thread or the suburban rail thread?) but those lines are called Tram Express.
Tangentielle Nord is Tram Express Nord, Tangentielle Sud is Tram Express Sud...

The studies are approved. For an extension of 6 km with connections to lines RER B, RER E, M12, future line M15 and T3B.

J'espere de tout coeur que T8 ne sera pas un soit disant tram sur pneu.....Peut-etre qu'il y aura une possibilité d'interconnexion avec T3B?

The T8 uses the same rolling stock than the T7, so don't worry it is not a Translohr tram.

I'm glad T8 will connect T1 to T3. I understand how stif/RATP want these lines to operate individually, but to me it makes sense to have a fully connected network to allow for different service patterns in the future. Paris is one of only two cities I've known built its network in separate pieces like this rather than having one expanding network, the other being Dublin.

That's going to be a long T1 looking at that map. Excellent news though.

I'd put those lines in here with the tram lines. In British terms they're sort of like the Docklands Light Railway I suppose - not a full metro but not a tram either. Except more tram-like than the DLR I'd say.

Even if they don't change up the service patterns, having track connections so rolling stock can be moved around (say, from one depot to another should space be needed at the first one) has its merits.

T1 will be split into two lines like the T3.
