Don't forget that this is a Translhor, not a standard tram.

Aha, so it is. I missed that detail. Any particular reason they chose the Translhor rather than a standard tram? Sorry, I didn't follow the design inception, my bad.

Waiting for the tram at Avenue de France (Line 3a).

Love the grass on the tram.

Waiting for the tram at La Defénse (T2).

Interior of the tram/light rail on T2.

At Parc de Saint Cloud on the T2.

More to come later.

A few more odd forms of transport in Paris.

Firstly, the Montmartre Minibus.

And the funicular at Sacre Coeur.

New kind of bus shelters.
There is are not just a countdown plannel inside the stop but also outside.

This is not visible in my picture but there is buttons to request the stop of the bus.
It illuminates a light under the number of the line next to the waiting time indicator.
As bus drivers told to the passengers who asked them about this new system, for the moment it is safer to make a sign if you want the bus to stop.

That is quite a nice idea, though I'm not sure how well it will work in practice. You just need some idiots to walk past constantly pushing the button to annoy the drivers. I know that when I am waiting for the bus in Stockholm, you often get kids walking past and pushing the audio announcement button for next buses just to annoy waiting passengers.

I would not be worried about this in Rue de Chateaudun, there are mainly office buildings in this street and no interesting shops outside sandwich joints and shops like Office Depot catering to workers.
No kids here, they have no reason or interest there.

More exactly, "je monte, je valide" (I get in the bus, I validate).
It is a message against fraud.

The destination is Porte d'Auteuil.

Thanks. RATP has accurate real times indeed, I tested; sadly I can't use their app for technical reasons, maybe on my next phone...

This was the kind of bus announcement that I saw on the stops in Paris.

Typical inner city bus.

Ghost running of the T6 will begin on November 8 for an opening on December 13.

The installation of new bus shelters just started in November

RATP began installing NFC chip at all stops.
This will give information on Smartphone like the QR codes already in place for years.

Nice new bus stops, but I have to admit I preferred the transparent glass tops/roofs of the previous bus shelters generation.

From Global Rail News:

T8 tram starts trial operation
17 NOV, 2014

T8 tramway – a light rail network under construction in northern Paris – is to begin operating a test service ahead of its full commissioning next month.

The test phase will be used for driver training and to check all operating systems are behaving correctly under normal service conditions.

The 8.45-kilometre line connects Saint-Denis – Porte de Paris station to Villetaneuse-University and Epinay-sur-Seine station via two branch lines. From December 16, the system will operate 20 trams an hour through the core and 10 trams an hour on the branch lines at peaks times.

More than 60,000 passengers are forecast to use the line every day.

T8 will include connections to line 13 of the Paris Metro, RER D and Line H Transilien at Gare St Denis.
