Paris Line T9 gains public utility status
Wednesday, February 04, 2015

PLANS for a new light rail link between Paris and the city's southeastern suburbs have taken an important step forward with the granting of public utility status for Line T9 on February 2

The 10km line will run south from an interchange with metro Line 7 and light rail line T3 at Porte de Choissy, serving six districts including Vitry sur Seine, Choisy-le-Roi, Thais, and Orly. The line will have 19 stations, including an interchange with the future Grand Paris express metro Line 15 at Hotel de Ville de Vitry.

Currently around 57,000 passengers per day use bus route 183 from Porte de Choissy to Orly Airport, which is deemed to have reached its capacity limit. The light rail line is expected to carry 70,000-80,000 passengers per day with services operating at 4-5 minute intervals at peak times and offering a 30-minute journey time between the two termini

They should at least make the T3a cross the Garigliani bridge so that it's connected with the M9 and M10 at Michel-Ange Molitor and Porte d'Auteuil.

Follow boulevard Lannes, then going south, Suchet,
then turning south-east boulevard Exelmans, till the Seine and Garigliano bridge :

J'espere que T9 sera en tout point compatible avec T7....Juste au cas ou les deux lignes seraient reliées(Aéroport de Paris-Orly)......

I hope that T9 will be fully compatible with T7...Just in case the two lines would be connected (Aéroport de Paris-Orly)...

Because you jumped on conclusions a bit too quickly IMO ... and because of what? Because of a single pic, showing only a single tram-set... I mean as if that was the Translohr's first snow experience (which is not, AFAIK)... So come on, give us a break! (you should IMHO just assume that you dislike this tram system for no proper reason...and move on, instead of ridiculously jumping on the first non-event to bash it)

Voilà!

Underground water networks work have started this January for the new tramway T4 to Montfermeil.

I don't think that the T9 will ever go at the airport.
There is no need for this.

Since a new depot (shared with the future Tangentielle Nord) and control center will be built in the Noisy-le-Sec rail yard and some work has to be done along the line between there and Gargan in order to harbor Citadis Dualis tramcars, I think this should be the right time to extend passenger service toward Noisy-le-Sec station; I'm well aware there's little room for it, but the engineering challenge is worth: gaining a direct access to an important transport hub - T1, Tangentielle Nord (after 2023) and RER E where it has a better headway - could definitely boast T4 attractiveness.

To answer both of these questions, it seems wasteful to continuously build lines around Paris without connecting them and eventually creating a continuous network, with more opportunities for centralized repair, and more possibilities for new routes by combining existing lines together in various patterns. To that end, the Translohr is a wasteful instance of creating a new technology system that means reduced network opportunities and additional maintenance and supply complications.

I was translating the post above me about T9, but I do think that it should eventually connect to T7, if only to share shop space and reduce costs. If it eventually connects to allow T7 trams to reach T3, then you start to have a real system going. (I seem to recall T9 meeting T3a at the top of the map-was I wrong?)
