Alstom secures Stif LRV contract
Friday, November 11, 2016

ILE-de-France Transport Authority (Stif) has awarded Alstom a €70m contract to supply 22 Citadis X05 LRVs for light rail Line T9. The deal is part of a framework contract for up to 68 LRVs for lines T9 and T10 announced in April 2015

The 44m-long LRVs are scheduled for delivery from mid-2019 and will enter service in October 2020. They will each be able to transport more than 314 passengers, and will be fitted with passenger Wi-Fi. Alstom says the X05 is the latest and lightest tram in its Citadis range, and offers improved energy-efficiency as well as offering a high-level of reliability. In addition, the vehicle is 97% recyclable

The preliminary plans for the Translohr line across central Paris have been publised:

It's interesting that the path of the line would follow the Seine to the South-West instead of following the main axis, like an overground duplicate of the Line 1 of the métro.

Doesn't look like a Translohr. Looks like an electric bus made to look like a tram. I see no overhead wires, or guide rail.

^ could be. I wrote Translohr because that's what I was remembering from when we last discussed the issue. The releases only use the very ambiguous and non-binding term "tram-bus".

Edit: it says that it will be inspired by the TZen and for some reason I was thinking the TZen is Translohr but it is, indeed, a rapid transit bus.

It is not Translohr.

Just electric buses.
