i love dogs, both eating them (farm raised preferred) and having them as pets (of course I don't eat my pets),
there's no real moral about eating anything, there's just you, your mind, and your body. you can eat anything as long as it doesn't kill you, if you're going to suggest eating human then you are suggesting to eat a form a meat that is very highly dangerous, most creatures cannot eat their own kind due to the share of diseases and what not. dog meats are great, try some and you might agree. We shouldn't ban dog meat but rather ban the practice of preparing them, killing it with the most humane way is highly preferable. |

1.: In many national (Chinese/Vietnamese/Arabian.....) restaurants all around the world you only get pseudo-national food.
2.: Many people say that if you want original dishes, you have to dinner at a peasant's home. 3.: I noticed that many "prominent" Western chefs nowaday claim old traditional (not only Vietnamese) recipes as their "newest creation". I do not have a problem with mixing dishes from everywhere to create a new taste. But some of those chef are cooking their dish in the exactly same way people somewhere else have done for many centuries with the same ingredients, furthermore they don't even mention the place where they got their inspriration from. After that people come to their restaurants and get their money ripped off for dishes they mostly might get a lot cheaper in some restaurants runned by immigrants or if they would go to the next Asian supermarket.

The Hanoi foods look rather dirty. Don't eat them so much, you'll get stomachache!

I found food in Hanoi to be good.. I've been there in 2003 and was able to experience eating local food... I don't know their names though.. but I remember Bun Cha, not sure if spelled it right, which I've tasted in the Hanoi Hotel... it's that beef on onion leaves on a hot pan.... loved it..
