i've seen Express Estates construction going on so hopefully that'll escape.. Ampa's already as good as finished so probably that'll open soon too...

the OMR malls (Riverside Mall and Coromandel Plaza) are in relatively initial stages of construction and might face problems..

Generally mall space and multiplex space are booked as long lease say 9+9+9 years. Many a time the booking by anchor stores is done even before the foundation work is started. Only the smaller vanilla stores will come towards the end.

The construction time is generally 2 to 3 years.

The situation may be alright say in the next two years.

The anchor shops will start the opearion ie doing interiors etc only if they are sure of good business. As the situation is fluid, people are keeping the fingers crossed.

Since they all booked at higher rates earlier, they are afraid that whether they will be able to service the same now. The power cost is also very high since generators have to be used now (almost tripled).

Thts why I have predicted the delay.

Two days before i travelled by Nelson Manickam road. After a long time, i could see some activities in AMPA mall. Instance, the usual dull exterior are given yellow & orange shades and it looks good.

Basement work on the Sky city Mall ( http://www.sky-city.in/mall_multiplex.html ) has started. This is in Vanagaram ( near Maduravoyal).

Development of Grand Mall is going on full swing(day and night). Everyday there is progress. With the kind of activity going on I think it will be completed in another 6 months.

Express Avenue- I see little progress. Few people are working, I think this will be delayed little bit.

AMPA mall- Work is going in full swing

where is the location of grand mall chennai? Is it in velachery? Is this the one opposite to bharat petrol bunk?

True value homes has acquired land in LB Road adyar to construct 400000 sq ft mall cum hotel. The total land acquired was 3.68 acres for 200 crores. Exact location is not known.

There is no construction happenning here. Think the project is put on hold.

chennai central is near my house . the groundwork has not even started . it looks like some porambokku nilam . probably recession effect .
