Friend, to me, the stairwell pics are very dull. The other pics are awesome. This may be because there aren't enough lights and shops adding to the color in that area of the mall.

This Big Bazaar is one crap of a store and is going to make this mall look like some naatar kadai. I have been to one of their stores in B'lore a few years ago - goods are strewn all around and occupy almost all the shop floor leaving only very narrow alleys for aisles. It was very congested to move around the store - poor ventilation - could cause suffocation and a certain death should a fire break out.

I hate big bazaar. Very low quality products. Apart from vegetables, nothing is worth buying. I have been to Star bazaar, Hyper city, More, Spencer's hyper market, SPAR, Reliance Mart and Total hyper malls in bangalore. I would rate the star bazaar and spar the best among them. Isn't star bazaar planning for any store in chennai? It belongs to tata group.

Star bazaar is already there in Ampa Skywalk....

But, yes even i don't like big bazaar...... It's more like saravana stores....

I was expecting something like Hyper city in Express avenue.... so i'm a little disappointed.....

PS: My first post(ahhhh, thankfully) in the forum which i ve been following RELIGIOUSLY from the past year(yea) nd still was unable to register for a new account...tried diff id's, still din work...at last some mails to ''jan klerks'' did the trick..... nevertheless I have some good news for all the multiplex lovers of chennai(incl. me) :

Chennai – The Metropolitan city has good news for all its movie buffs. Within next couple of years, there would have at least a dozen of multiplexes blooming up across nook and corners of the city.
Uh-huh! Isn’t that surprising?
Kollywood haps to be the largest film industry that producers more films than Bollywood every year, but still remains unreachable to the audiences due to the scarcity of more cinema halls.
It’s really appalling to hear that more than 100 films are still remaining inside cans due to lack of theatres.
We bring you an exclusive list of multiplexes that will be raised in Chennai within short span of time:

PVR Cinemas: The 7-screened multiplex has already kick-started its services from last month featuring 20 films at the same time. Located at the center of City, the multiplex receives full crowd even for the low budget flicks.

IMAX Cinemas: The biggest theatre brand is ready to strike with 10 screen multiplex and it’s almost nearing the completion now. (Location/mall ???)

Big Cinemas: Having launched at many centres in Tamil Nadu, Big Cinemas will have its launch in Chennai shortly. Located at Vadapalani High Road (directly opposite to Kamala Cinemas), it will obviously take at least a year to open-up.(Yes, this is THE FORUM, vadapalini next to green park hotel)

CINEMAX: Situated right behind Sathyam Cinemas, this will have 10-screen multiplex and will be launched within next couple of months.(note:i think its a mistake nd i guess they r talking abt express avenue, where sathyam is gonna come coz ther's no other palce behind sathyam for a mall/multiplex)

Apart from these multiplexes, there are yet another centres coming up in Chennai. One of them is being established by Kalpathy Brothers of AGS Entertainment and another one at Poonamallee High Road (Opposite to Pacchayappas College). It is being built at the same place that previously had a big bungalow, where films like ‘Chandramukhi’ were shot.
Doubtlessly, this should have invigorated the spirits of movie buffs as they can experience the real experience of unlimited technology of movies in varieties of screens.

The article mentions abt IMAX too, but doesnt speak of any location nd the gud news is its dated 21 MAY 2010, so its not old news too

I thought TGIF was coming at Ampa Skywalk. Have they changed the location or is this a second outlet planned?

Last year i checked the Lifestyle showroom in City Centre, they have maintained absolutely wonderfully, but the prices i believe it is affordable only to Upper Middle Class and above, who have high disposable incomes, not sure it will pay off in long run.

To give an example a simple round neck T-Shirt was 700 Rs.
Average income for Indian is just 41000 Rs per year or around 3500 per month.
