Exterior of Express Avenue look dull...will look the same or do they any other plans to lit up and give a peppy gorgeous look...

Any idea about the retail outlets that are going to come up in this mall...read a news which said that 100% is leased out. Is it going to be the same old guys or any new international brands entering Chennai thru this mall...

Almost every Tamil movie made is dubbed/remade in Telugu. This is happening from time immemorial - right from the 70s to now and too many of these movies were a hit in Telugu. The reverse has happened but to a much smaller extent that too only if big Tamil movie guys like Kamal, ARR, Mainratnam etc. are involved. Even if Vijay, Remake Ravi etc. who ape Telugu movies continue for the next 15 years, they can't equalize the count that has happened in the other direction.

Nowadays Bala's movies, Subramaniapuram etc. which are core Tamil subjects are being dubbed into Telugu.

Some Hindi movies were remade in Tamil by Rajni, Kamal etc. during the 80s. At the same time, Hindi movies took some Illayaraja Tamil tunes. With the launch of Roja, Tamil cinema took India by storm never to look back again. Too many Shankar, Maniratnam, ARR and some Kamal movies were dubbed or remade into Tamil. Even Bala's Sethu, Kamal's Panchathanthram were remade into Hindi.

Please go and check the facts and figures before making such comments.

Am ready to take on anyone who degrades Tamil cinema by comparing it with others in India . Never...never...never compare Tamil cinema to Telugu cinema in remakes/dubs.
I can point out more than 15 Malayalam films (though Im NOT a movie freak) which is remade in Tamil in the last 10 years..

Friend, as my post clearly says, I am talking only about Tamil and Telugu cinema and that too only about remakes/dubs.

It's good that new multiplex brands are coming up..... My only wish is that these multiplexes should come up in other parts of the state as well and not just in Chennai....

I read somewhere that there was 2400 screens in Tamil Nadu, but due to various reasons, many had to shut down and now there is only 1400 screen, which is very less compared to the no of films that our state produces every year.... Due to scarcity for theaters, some of the films even though they are good, doesn't get the kind of release that it deserves....

But now, things are changing for good and some new multiplexes have already been opened and still many more are in line..... This is really good for the Tamil film industry or say film industry as a whole....

Big Bazaar to invest Rs. 600 crore on expansion

http://beta.thehindu.com/business/article472701.ece

Big Bazaar will be investing Rs. 600 crore in expanding its retail chain and related back-end facilities.

Addressing presspersons here on Friday after inaugurating its fourth store in Chennai, Rakesh Biyani, Director, Future Group, said the group was operating 132 stores in the country and the plan was to open 60 more in the near future.

With the economic recovery in place, Big Bazaar was witnessing a significant improvement in sales in recent months and last month was by far the best selling month, Mr. Biyani said.

In the next two months, 10-12 additional stores would be in place, he said.

The newly established outlet at the Express Avenue Mall here, occupying a retail space of 70,000 sq.ft., was the largest one on a single floor, he said.

According to Venkateshwar Kumar, Business Head, South, over 25 per cent of the space in the new super market was reserved for food products and 20 varieties of rice were offered to cater to the needs of various communities.

He said one more store in Coimbatore was already operational and the company was highly optimistic about expansion in Tamil Nadu.

Big Bazaar was laying special emphasis on the affordable price factor apart from quality and variety of the products to induce huge savings for customers, Mr. Kumar said.

Ampa Vs EA

Ampa
Not so professional
No of elevators appears to be insufficient;
Parking & traffic regulation to improve a lot
Food court - looks cramped and the airflow felt insufficient;

EA
Well planned & spacious
Travelator, Escalator, Elevators (not sure) - seems to be enough for the present population inside
Parking & Traffic regulation inside the mall - in learning curve-hope to improve in future;
Traffic from the exit gate to the main road needs to be regulated with dedicated traffic cops/guards.
