There will be two Shangri-Las in Jing An as far as I know, and there are already two of them in Lujiazui (it's more like one hotel in two buildings though), and one more is being built in Pudong (Kerry Centre Pudong). Shangri-La will definitely have a strong hold in Shanghai in the future.

Very nice. Elegant and understated design. Some of the most beautiful skyscrapers are being built in China these days.

Concrete achievement

By China Foto Press | 2009-7-27

Concrete mixer truckers are seen at the construction site of the south tower of the Shanghai Kerry Center in Jing'an District yesterday. A total of 19,000 cubic meters of concrete, the largest amount so far to be used as the base for a building in Puxi - on the west side of the Huangpu River - was poured at the site. It took workers two days and two nights to finish the task. The base pit was also the deepest for a building in Puxi, constructors said. Built on land measuring 41,000 square meters, the skyscraper, which will house offices, a hotel, entertainment venues and exhibition rooms, has attracted more than 3 billion yuan (US$439 million) in investment despite the ongoing global economic downtown. The floor area of the building will be about 410,000 square meters.

In the first two renderings it looks like it would be build in Pudong, however taking a look at the construction photos it's definitely constructed in Jingan. Was the location changed?
